Well that is it for now, have completed my Open University Essay course and very nervously just submitted my final assignment 3 days ahead of time. I sent it in the end as I have completed numerous edits and didn't want to alter it any more, I knew if it was hanging around I would go into it and yet again complete another edit.

I wont get the result for another couple of months, although apparently I will get comments back from my tutor but nothing is set in stone until it has all been approved.

Now I just have to work out whether to go for a course in October or not.

More decisions..........

On the plus front I am going out with the girlies tonight and I at least wont have to be worrying that I have an essay to complete.

Its always a great feeling to get things in before they are due, something I never managed to achieve (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) I'm a 'hand in on the deadline kind of person.

How did you find this course, I've been looking at it on the OU website, although I've studied degree level before, I wondered if it would still be useful to tighten up my skills (or lack of (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) ).

Here is the link to the course

I think it was an excellent course, just runs 12 weeks and a 10 pointer. I must admit I was shocked as I had anticipated it being quite easy but found it quite tough, but then I hadn't done any essay writing for nearly 40 years, and then we never had to do what is required now.

Next course starts in October.

Glad you enjoyed it, I'm planning to start my studies with the OU in October, and advisor was supposed to call me back by today (still time I suppose) to discuss the depleting music options! My last stint at uni was only two years ago, so I'd guess not much has changed around writing essays, but strange as it might seem, I have never had any real 'training' on how an essay should be written other than the bog standard 'do 200 words for your abstract, then introduce the main body of your disscusion and argument and then conclude'. Not much help really (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Have a well deserved night out! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Thank you everyone and good luck with your studies Vitula with the OU. I know what you mean about the depleting music courses, this is coursing me a lot of stress deciding what to do next year with AA317 on its final year. The new replace course for A214 (A224) looks very promising, no summer school though I am afraid. I am thinking of doing that October 2012, which if my plans work out, that will be my last course to complete my degree. But of course that all depends on whether I can cope with what I have mapped out beforehand.

Gah!!! The Summer school was one of the greatest things about A214. Such a shame the OU feel the need to cut these out now. Making music together is not something easily done via internet conferencing (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif)
