Hello Barry

I'm sorry that I cannot make your Greenwich playday. I was looking forward to it but when the date was announced it clashes with my Tonbridge Philharmonic concert day for Dream of Gerontius. We have a rehearsal at 2 p.m. and the concert at 7.30 so I'm afraid I am going to have to miss your playday. I hope you all have a very good day.

Going to copy this to Sol's event/Greenwich playday thread (delete as appropriate (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) ) - weather forecast at the moment is relatively snow free... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Not as many as I'd like...though having said that, I haven't been able to get to the PO Box for a while, for one reason or another, so there may be more in there. We're on eight. Which ensures I won't lose money, at least...

edit : keep an eye on this thread : BBC now forecasting snow showers for Saturday...

Oh my goodness, that's a shockingly bad take-up! There seems little point in you conducting with such a small number, b-c - you might as well play your clarinet and we can have a chamber-music day instead. What instruments will be there? And have you got any nine-part pieces (I do have a few, but unfortunately they are recorder pieces and so wouldn't work in this context (no transposed parts etc).

If I didn't have to work (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) then I'd have maybe been able to come to this.

I agree with jo.clarinet, I can't believe there'll only be eight of you (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) . Hope you have a good time anyway, sure you will (IMG:style_emoticons/default/yay.gif)

It's unfortunately coincided with a number of other local events which took out most of my other contacts (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) , and the weather forecast is also not great... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Thanks for your good wishes, Louise (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) - I've got plenty of stuff that'll keep us occupied, Jo. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I'm spending most of today rehearsing for gig tomorrow then I've got my last 1-2-1 lesson before January, or I'd be down. Hope it all goes well in any case.

Well, we were a VERY small and select group of four, including Barry - luckily we were fairly well-balanced musically! We had to compete with a herd of wildebeest jumping up and down to VERY loud music upstairs, though - with enough force to make our ceiling lights flicker, which didn't help our concentration............

I do think it's a shame when someone puts themself out to organise something and there is hardly any take-up - even given those who were going to come but were ill, and those who couldn't come for reasons such as work, there really could have been many more faces there (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
