I've been playing the piano since around the age of 7, now 17 and wondered if there were any bands or clubs I could get myself into? Also personal experinces of anything of outside music lessons would help (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Have you looked at the courses at LCCM and City Lit?
Check out LCCM's 1 week Jamming keyboards course and also their Saturday Performance Workshop Piano & Keyboards: http://www.lccm.org.uk/courses.php?Categor...and%20Keyboards LCCM has a lot of jazz piano courses and you'll meet musicians all around your age so that would be a good starting point for a band performance. There are also regular end of term/year performances at both institutions. City Lit might be a bit too traditional for your needs: http://www.citylit.ac.uk/courses/music/193 |

There is also morley college http://www.morleycollege.ac.uk/departments/music/
More courses than clubs but I know they have a wind orchestra and I'm sure they will do something for piano. I haven't been there, but do know someone who did their conducting course which they loved. |
