I don't want to 'tread on anyone's toes' so I just wondered what forumers thought about an adult learners concert in Gloucester, May 2011. Looking at the calendar there is nothing going on in May.

I have a potential venue in mind. My piano teacher, who is from South Africa and started teaching here about three years ago here is fully supportive of having a forum event in Gloucester as she was so impressed by Teddington earlier this year. I would hope to generate some local interest.

Would anyone be interested in coming to Gloucester? The venue is a five minute walk from the train station and there is a car park near the venue.

Here is a link to the webpage for the concert on June 4th.

All welcome

If I can make it, I'll come along, if not, I wish you all the best. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Prioritise your local interest first.

Where are all the folks in the West?

What a shame that clavicembalo is no longer with us as I am sure he would have been happy to have a Forum event nearer home.

Gloucester is a long way from Costa Rica BUT...

I do hope to be in the UK some time around mid year and I would really like to try and make this. My mum lives near Lydney so Gloucester would be quite manageable for me if I can get the timing to coincide with my work commitments. I see from the events calendar that the date is fixed for 4 June.

I look forward to hearing more about what you have in mind.

Anyone up for doing a combo with my oboe????

But you can't possibly be in France "sadly"! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Yay Gloucester, I will do my utmost to make it.

Where is the venue? I can't think of anywhere that close to the station that would be suitable, unless it is one of the local schools?

JUNE

Saturday 4 : Gloucester, Gloucs. : Gloucester Adult Learners Concert. Everyone welcome from 11am onwards. Concert to start at 2pm. Afternoon tea will be served during the break. There is a hall for practice with a piano and the concert will be held in the church which has a reasonable grand piano. The venue is St John's Northgate, Gloucester. It is in the town centre with parking close by and probably a seven minute walk from the railway station. Cost probably 10 GBP plus about 2.50 GBP for afternoon tea. Organised by scotliz.

Really pleased that folk are interested in coming along. Look forward to seeing you all there. (Sorry have been a bit busy with work recently, so haven't been on the forum very much).
