I received a call from the TG exams centre in the afternoon, asking me to collect the result of my ATCL recital in piano. thankfully I was out shopping nearby with my friends & we quickly trooped over to collect it. my hands were trembling as I took it out... to see a nice result. smile.gif

technique: 26/30
musical sense: 28/30
communication: 29/30
presentation skills: 9/10

total: 92/100

distinction. biggrin.gif especially pleased with my Brahms rhapsody, which the examiner said was a "highly accomplished performance". tongue.gif

Well done! Especially as you were with friends, would have been tricky if you were disappointed and in company, but especially lovely you had people to share your triumph! Enjoy your weekend now!

thank you, everyone. smile.gif it was the 2nd rhapsody in G minor of Brahms that i played. the B minor one is not in the syllabus for atcl (although both rhapsodies are for ltcl).

in any case, does anyone know of how i may rent the academic dress available to associates? my parents want to take a photo of me in the robes (or thereabouts) to commemorate this event. blush.gif

I vvaz nozy to zee vvhat it'd look like and tried to find that one out - but couldn't for certain. Az I underztand it, ATCL academic drezz iz a govvn only, vvith a hood being added for LTCL, and then zome other refinement for Fellovvzhip, but the only pic I could find online vvaz of the FTCL get-up. Zo - you might azk Ede and Ravenzcroft for advice, or an academic outfitterz' of zome zort. Might be expenzive to hire though - certainly vvhen I graduated in medicine it vvazn't cheap to get the kit for the day.
