I've only just seen this thread, DaisyChain, but I'm so glad I have - Fantastic news, I'm so happy for you (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) And I saw somewhere else that you had an insomnia-free night last night (now I know why (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)), which is brilliant - may you have many more (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

This has to be the best news ever announced on this forum (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) . Makes things like joining an orchestra or passing an exam (both of which I have been guilty of announcing here) pale into insignificance.

Congratulations DC for not letting the b******s grind you down (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) .

Well, good people of the forum...I thank you all for all your kind words. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif)

However.....(why is there always an 'however'? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) )

After a lengthy meeting with my solicitor, he says that yes, we have won a major part of the case, but unfortunately there is still an outstanding issue that could mean that I lose overall. He says I'm to have faith and that now the court is on our side, things should be resolved in my favour. He just feels the need to make me aware of any 'worse case scenario' issues. So...if we end up in court after all (following various meetings to try and avoid this for everyone) it's not likely to be until the end of the year due to the courts' recess during August and September.

It would seem my euphoria was a little premature. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Sol...the person who assaulted me was 'sentenced' to a two year conditional discharge last February (2010). He still lives in my home town and I've seen him a number of times when I've been wandering around the shops. He tried to talk to me on one occasion. I spoke to the police officer that was in charge of my case and he said he couldn't do anything as no law had been broken. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

Here is hoping that his followup with you was really just to keep you informed of all the possibilities just like a good solicitor should!

Surely there should have been an injunction put in place to stop him approaching you? What's wrong with these people? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif)
