I'm back now, after a lovely weekend visit to Stalybridge.

Thanks to Sbhoa, who put on yet another excellent gig.

Congratulations to all the performers for making it such a lovely musical event.

Thanks to the audience for listening - we couldn't do it without you.

Thanks also to

Val, for excellent cuppas,

Seer_Green for excellent accompanying,

StuMac for excellent solo-ing (and excellent ignoring of my accompaniment oopsies...)

Gedall40 and Andante-in-C for excellent trio-ing, and Louise 1712 along with these two for excellent quartetting,

another thankyou to Andante-in-C for excellent lifts all weekend,

...and Katica for excellent breakfast conversation.

See you all next year (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Many, many thanks to sbhoa for another great Stalybridge event. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/clap.gif) It was nice to see many old friends and to meet some new ones. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I particularly enjoyed the breakfasts in the enchanted forest with katyjay, katica and Gedall40. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Roll on Stalybridge 8 next year. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I can only echo what's been said above - especially an enormous thank you to sbhoa for organising the event once again! I won't thank everyone individually, but a big thanks to those who bought music or cards - if anyone missed out or wants more info, PM me and I'll let you have my website address (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

OK, I think I've had all the station lift requests, please correct me if I've missed anyone.
9.43 Saxophile
9.46 Louise 1712 and Katica
so one lift can get all 3 - Gedall40 is there any chance you could do this as you have a big car?
10.13 Onion
Ooops! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Missed Saxophile and Louise1712, sorry, but managed Katica (that was easy (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) ) and Onion OK (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) .
QUOTE(katica @ Jul 23 2011, 12:46 AM) *
Hi katyjay... I hope you see this!!!! I've been off the Forum for a few days. I am already in Hyde and staying in the same place as Gedall40. I'll let him know at breakfast about this request!
Thank you, but it was talking about it that made us a bit late for the station!
QUOTE(flobiano @ Jul 23 2011, 07:44 PM) *
Thank you to gedall40 for accompanying me so well....
(IMG:style_emoticons/default/blush.gif) You made it easy by playing so well, as did the others whom I accompanied (Saxophile and BC). When you think how little time we all actually get to rehearse together in our little duos and trios, and the circumstances this takes place in (like just outside the Ladies Toilet (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) ) we can all be proud of the final results achieved.

A big thank you to shboa and katyjay for organising this fantastic event, also have to mention the wonderful Val for all her work in the kitchen, as sbhoa said, she really is a star.
Thank you andante-in-c for your fluting advice, and also to Gedall40 and katyjay for allowing me to play flute in a quartet with them (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) (Gedall40 - thanks for the lift to the station too (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) )

Finally, a big thank you for the lovely comments I received. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Hope to see you all next year.
I agree with all this, and would add that I am pleased to be able to offer a lift in my car to anyone because you are all such nice people (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
QUOTE(PianoNotes @ Jul 24 2011, 12:01 PM) *
..and thanks, Gedall40 for transporting me back to the station.
QUOTE(pushpull @ Jul 24 2011, 12:42 PM) *
Well I made it for the beer (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
Good to meet you and have a chat (although it was at times a shouting chat (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) )
QUOTE(StuMac @ Jul 24 2011, 02:57 PM) *
Many thanks for such a great day! Pioty I couldn't stay for the meal - hope you all had a good time!
Well done Stu on your singing debut! Keep it up and I look forward to the next time.

Seer_Green for excellent accompanying,

And the same from me too!

Another person who has said what I want to say.

I also have to add that my Friday evening was also delightful - spent in the company of notmusimum and Emsoboe to start with, talking about all kinds of subjects, and then later after we had met Katica for the first time at Manchester Piccadilly. We did get to play a little music that evening.

Finally thank you to Katica for the excellent navigation round Manchester (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) .

Thanks to Sbhoa for organising another great Stalybridge Adult Learners' Concert. I had a fantastic time, I thought everyone played astoundingly well and I enjoyed hearing so many different performances. Thanks to Saxophile for letting me join the "Pink Panther" quartet, hope we can perform together again sometime. Thanks too to Rachi for accompanying me and to everyone for their inspiring comments. Can't wait until next year. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

No permission required - thank you for volunteering, and playing it so well (much better than I managed, especially those darned low Bbs!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) ). Thanks also to barry-clari and other Barrie for their respective parts in the quartet. It was great fun!

My thanks especially to gedall40 for fantastic accompaniment. I (almost!) enjoyed playing my piece, which I think has to be a first for me in an almost-solo performance situation!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

And thanks most of all to sbhoa and katyjay for all the organising which went into making the event happen in the first place. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/clap.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/clap.gif)

I just want to echo all the thank-yous above. Especially to sbhoa for impeccable organisation, Val for vital sustenance and support, gedall40 for accompaniment not only on the piano but in the car (when navigation skills sent out the window (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) ), flobiano for being brilliant both on piano and as oboe partner in crime, Seer_Green for a marvellous job on the piano (also an excellent impromptu partner in crime) and everyone who entertained so well - on instruments, at breakfast and over beer! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

I must say that the comment envelope - with the right introduction from sbhoa - is an EXCELLENT idea. It really underlines the purpose of Adult Learner concerts and is very encouraging to anyone (probably everyone) who has performance nerves. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I'm finally back online. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Thanks everyone for the lovely comments about the day as well as for the amazing feedback comments.
Seer Green, thank you for accompanying me in playing your pieces. I hope that I did them justice, I really enjoyed playing them.

Provisional date for next year is Saturday 21st July and this will be confirmed around Easter as I have to check that nobody wants to get married or anything no that day... well, at that church anyway.
Enjoyed all the performances and it was great to meet with old and new friends.
It was so good that pushpull and Mrs pushpull could join us in the Station Buffet Bar so that katica could have her fill of oboe talk. Some of us were there til about chucking out time. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

It's taken me until today to recover from the weekend.

You're certainly coming on with the cello now. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
Well done, and with a less than cooperative instrument too. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
