Hi, I live in the UK but will be going back to Hong Kong to visit family this summer. I need to buy a violin (I am a beginner) and I found this shop:
www.solostrings.com.hk Their violins are all handmade by professional luthiers and I am interested in getting either the Harmony or Classic violin. Has anyone bought a violin from there and what was your experience? Are the violins good? And do you know of any other violin shops in HK that would be worth buying from? |

Having looked at their website I can only guess that only their 'signature' violin at 28,800 hong kong dollars is handmade from start to finish (then is it any good? I don't know you can only know if a violin is good by seeing it IN PERSON and playing it), the rest are 'factory' violins, in other words they are just like the stentors violins (which are also chinese made by the way), so are these violins any better? you will be the best judge by playing a stentor and then playing one of these, then pick the one you like best (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |
