I've asked the question:
What is your Unique Selling Point? or Can you sum yourself up in one word? If requires thinking. A straight answer would probably make it seem the interviewee is over prepared. |

Interview was rubbish and I didn't get the job.
I'm too stupid to ever come across well in interviews (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mellow.gif) |

Yes, true. But the bottom line is you are clever, and not stupid. The only PhD I'm ever likely to get will be if I choose to download this song from iTunes or Spotify or something (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) |

I'm sorry to hear that. Sometimes interviews just slowly spiral downwards until you can hardly think of anything at all, and you find yourself just wishing it was over...
For all my moaning about assessment centres, I've come to the conclusion that they're good; because at least not everything rests on one interview, which can go very wrong. Mind you, I've had assessment centres turn in to total disaster too. (Note to self: telling the HR staff that they are incompetant and ineffectual communicators, does not assist in getting a job, however justfied the remark!) Will you get any feedback from the interview? |
