Details are on the website now - not fully complete, but most of the info is there. I can't wait, as usual. Looking forward to my 6th consecutive year.

I would love to go but can't justify the expense as I do want to do my PTTC course at some point in the future (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Then will definetely do Chet's after that (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Hope you all enjoy it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

EXCITED, EXCITED, EXCITED.

Thank for flagging this up, bevpiano. I've just spent some time on the website selecting the teachers I would like to have next year. Disappointed that Margaret Murray MacLeod and Penelope Roskell will not be there but have chosen Kathryn Page, Susan Bettany and Joan Havill (who I do not know but like her profile).

Look forward to seeing you there in the future, Pixie*Porsche. It really is piano heaven.

Do people on here do the "piano" course or the "adult" course?

I do the piano course, some people here do the amateur course. There's not much difference, just the amateurs have their own workshops.

I do the adult amateur course, and the difference is as bevpiano said.

My plan is to attend Chet's every year and also to make use of performance opportunities elsewhere to try and improve massively before embarking on the EPTA teacher training course.

I met Kathryn Page last year when she was adjudicator at our Wirral Festival (I was an class steward/announcer!), she was really pushing me to go this year as I will be retired by then. Ive not had a piano lesson since 1965, but still trying to play to about DipA level. It depends if Mrs will let me go off every day for a week ! At least its only an hours drive so I can be home each night. Yes I will hopefully have a go !!

I am deciding whether or not to apply. Can someone describe their experiences on it and say what it did for them?

I think I know why Margaret Murray McLeod won't be there: she taught me last year!!!!

I'll be there, again.

Have you noticed the website also includes the first concrete details of the 2012 Chetham's, Pianist and Yamaha Amateur Piano Competition, with a link to pianist magazine, where it isn't yet on the site!

I would cut & paste the panel but would that be advertising?

Yes, I can't see anything wrong with putting it here. You won't gain anything personally from it, but it may be helpful to people who read it. Are you going to enter, Robodoc? I won't be eligible, as a teacher, but it will be interesting to watch. Good luck to everyone who enters!
