Has anyone made a ranking of scales etc. in order of difficulty to aid them in practicing for exams, etc.? I did this for Grade 7 piano and found it helpful to be able to vary the practice mix by starting with the easiest and ending with the hardest (in my ranking), instead of proceeding a) chromatically or b) using e.g. the main groupings / patterns: CDEG and A; keys starting on black keys; F; and: the Bs and B flats.

Interestingly keys that are hard in one way can be among the easiest in another.

I will share my rankings in due course, but am trying to rank the chromatics a third apart at the moment. Any views as to which pairs are hard and which not?
