Some days I feel like I want to quit playing and that my life will be a lot less complicated without the hard work in trying to make the time for practice.

How did others get around this?

I know the feeling all too well.

Part of the problem is that I always feel that I should be doing productive with my time and find it hard to relax. That means, that when I come home from work, I feel really guilty if I am not doing something. This 'something' is usually flute practice, but unfortunately, I am definitely a morning person. I can't play before I go to work as I'll wake people up. This means, that I am often practising when I am tired/grumpy, which means I am less patient with my playing. Then, I get less confident, because I think I must be useless, which leads me to not want to practise, which makes me guilty, and I feel worse about my playing, etc. It doesn't help that I have my exam to prepare for.

I haven't really found a strategy to cope with it. I do love playing though.

Hmm.

Hmm.

I know someone who used to be in work early to practice and I think could find somewhere to use at lunch time too. Might need a bit of thought about time to eat.

I thought about playing at work, but there aren't any suitable rooms that I could think of. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
