Son did his exam on 21st at a special visit. I did provide our email address but realistically he won't find out till Mon 20th when back at school :-(((
Now, the question is, should we delay the decision on trumpet purchase BEFORE or AFTER the result????

Just found results for my adult Grade 3 pupil online - she got a merit so very pleased for her. Haven't had an email saying it's there but now I'm relaxing from teaching until 18th April, except for some planning and preparation!

QUOTE(Clari Nicki1 @ Apr 4 2012, 06:47 PM) *

My results are in- a mixed bag.... Distinction for a Grade 3 sax (but he is Woking for Gr 7 clari so he should have got that), 128 for 2 boys- one a gr 2 clari who only began in Nov, a merit for a Gr 4 clari- she started in July and has done her Gr 5 sax so that's an achievement- another merit at gr 2, then pass for a Gr 1 who deserved more but she was very nervous and for a Gr 5, again who deserved more, pass for another 2 Gr2's and a Gr 1 sax but he only started in Nov too. They all deserved passes! Quite pleased with the results overall!

QUOTE(andante @ Apr 4 2012, 07:56 PM) *

Result arrived today. 137 for grade 3.

QUOTE(ExpressYourself @ Apr 4 2012, 08:45 PM) *

Two candidates, two distinctions!

A boy with 91% at Grade 1 Pop Vocals!
An adult man with 87% at Grade 2 Rockschool Piano

So thrilled!

Congratulations everyone! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Has anyone else not received their results according to the timetable?

Just wonder if mine has been overlooked

Rubbish!! I had 1 on the 22nd and 9 last week, so I presume last weeks will be a long long wait now.

I knew that timetable would be a waste of space...

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

I hope you get yours Tuesday!

STILL waiting for the 19th! Am absolutely disgusted that the Board deem it appropriate to keep me and my pupils waiting for three weeks plus without any accuarate indication of when we might expect results. Just saying 2-4 weeks is not good enough, and what's the point of a timetable if they don't adhere to it?!
I am livid! Wish I could take my business elsewhere rather than continue to throw time and money at an organisation that shows absolutely no regard for its customers.

We've got to the point where my daughter's convinced her teacher must be concealing her result from her...

But, actually, I don't think three weeks is so long to wait. It would, however, be nice to think the Board got the results out in some sort of order that accorded with the dates when the exams were taken..

I would be a lot happier if I knew when to expect the results and could advise my pupils accordingly. The sheer arrogance of the Board expecting people to "just hang on" without any adequate information is what really bothers me. I waited three months for my A level results but if they hadn't been there on the published results day all ###### would have broken loose. The Board published a date of 5th April for this set of exams, which came and went with no results but most irritatingly without any attempt to explain or rectify the omission. If I was being kept informed that would be fine!

I'm sure my pupils think I am keeping theirs to myself too. I have several worried little ones who won't be reassured until they've had the marks back :'( And I can't relax either!

Yes, it's frustrating waiting for results, but music exams aren't as time-critical as A level results and rarely have anything life-changing hanging on them....

Team Doo:

Grade 4 theory - pass
Grade 7 piano - distinction

Great news, Scoob (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

So sorry for those of you who are frustrated with the waiting. Very occasionally whole session results can be held up (for example if a candidate presents a tune not on the current syllabus) so it's always worth getting the Applicant to ring if results seem unreasonably late.

I agree - I feel sorry for the people who are frustrated waiting too but, equally, I don't think it's quite so calamitous as people are making out.

Reading some of the posts, if I were the Board, I'd be tempted to going back to the old way of just saying '2-4 weeks' and then people get a pleasant surprise if they come early but don't get too fussed if they take 4 weeks.

There must be certain checks and balances they have to do on various sets of results. And which I wouldn't publicise directly either because if everyone knew that their set of results were being double-checked, they'd assume there was a problem and it'd be opening the way for countless claims for low marking (even if in fact the double-check was for something completely different, or even generous marking).

I think Bagpuss's idea of ringing if you're really getting stressed by it seems the sensible option. I never give my pupils a date - just tell them it'll take a month or so . . .
