There was a fascinating programme about the choristers of Salisbury Cathedral last night. It was interesting not just from the choristers' point of view but also because of the history of the cathedral especially in the light of religious changes of Tudor times and also the music itself.
If anyone missed it, it should be on BBC i-player and they are showing it again on Good Friday. |

Yes - I watched it and absolutely loved it. I hardly ever watch TV and was lucky to notice that this was on. It seemed to me to be very well done.

Yes I saw it. Very interesting. Likewise I very rarely watch tv, and wouldn't have known it was on, if a fellow choir-member hadn't mentioned it earlier in the day. At about quarter to nine I suddenly remembered it, thought I'd probably missed it, and happily discovered it started at 9.
Stayed and watched the Army Wives' choir programme too, as I'd not seen the series originally. |

Thank you CM for the pointer. Enjoyed very well, there is also another programme on iPlayer called "Breaking The Wall", which is truly inspirational

We saw this and were impressed. They seemed to have a balanced approach of showing the positive aspects of choir life and the drawbacks, without being sycophantic or doing a hatchet job. We have sent all our chorister colleagues a link to the i-player version, with a recommendation to watch it.
