I have 6 teenagers in my house today, 3 girls, 3 boys.... who have all done 2 hours work, sat around a table in silence, studying for their various exams. They are now having lunch- they are very well behaved and working very hard- not what you expect from teenagers..........
This is obviously the way to go.... until the novelty wears off- they are working so hard and I'm doing no nagging! |

Good to get some of the work out of the way at the start of the holidays. Long may it continue ....... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Where does the myth come from that teenagers are unlovely and lazy? Anyone know? It's just one of those generalisations. Some teenagers are. Many aren't. I have to say my almost teenager isn't unlovely, but he doesn't half need pushing to get his homework done sometimes.... |

My two teenagers are hard working and polite, help around the house and don't smell. They do have annoying haircuts and appauling taste in music though, but you can't have it all.
Loved reading your post, Clari Nicki! |

Loved reading your post, Clari Nicki! Mine are pretty lovely too, except that one (when he's home) seems to live in a completely different timezone (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) As regards revision, although I think my elder son's attitude to work has improved at last, getting revision out of him for GCSEs, AS and As was a nightmare - 45 minutes and he truly felt that he'd done a day's work - so I admire your young group immensely, Clari Nicki. My younger son has made a start revising for GCSEs and I think has a different attitude towards it than his brother, so I hope that I won't be tearing my hair out quite so much this time round. He has, however, decided that this is the perfect time for him to teach himself the sax and to play more piano - of course I'm delighted, but now I'm also highly suspicious: has he simply found a form of procrastination that he knows might work with me? Am I likely to be so pleased that he's upped his music that I might not notice that he hasn't yet sat down to his history? Hmmmmmm. I think I might have to keep an eye on that one.... |

Well you all know my teen spends most of her spare time in the swimming pool! The rest of the time she's very good, helpful, does her chores and gets her homework done at the pool before she swims! Of course she's only 13 so I wait to see if it will continue...... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
