This year will be my first ever time that I'll will watch a professional Orchestra play (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
A question: Promming/Standing: Can you buy the ticket early (2 and half hours before the concert) then enter a bit later? I don't want to join the queue late after spending money to travel to London and not get a concert. Arena or gallery? Does sitting in the Choir diminish the sound of the horns? Prom 27: Siegfried, Bruckner 8 prom 28: Firebird, Prom 34: Schubert Unfinished, Strauss: Heldenleben Prom 48: Freischutz, Tchaik Manfred Prom 75: Haydn, Strauss Alpensinfonie I just saw the program for the last night. Hnery Wood's British sea songs is a comeback (by popular demand I wonder) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy.gif) |

I don't want to join the queue late after spending money to travel to London and not get a concert. On arrival at the queue, you're given a raffle ticket so that you can wander off for a cuppa, have a personal needs break, go to a pre-Prom talk &c. and still retain your place. Disappearing off for several hours isn't the done thing. Arena or gallery? Arena - but then I would say that! Different people have different preferences; the gallery isn't for those who don't have a head for heights and isn't the best part of the RAH for smaller-scale concerts (although I note you have selected lots of lovely late Romantic German repertoire (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)); the arena can be a bit crowded, but is great for being close. Wherever you end up, don't push in as it upsets the natives (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) |

I just bought the ticket to Prom 34: Heldenleben, unfinished, and Battlefield. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
I'm really excited now and it's a quiet day of the olympics. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy.gif) |
