Accompanist volunteers are always greatly appreciated. Sbhoa usually matches up soloists to accompanists just after the closing date - so that she can make as good a match as possible between the demands of the piano parts and the players available, and so that she doesn't overload any of the volunteers. If you do make private arrangements for accompaniments, please ensure Sbhoa knows about them. |

It generally makes life easier if I do most of the matching up accompanists. Please let me know if you do make private arrangements, I do understand that sometimes people have a strong wish to work with someone in particular. |

I've printed my form out and will put it in the post in the next couple of days. No idea what I'm going to play yet though - I'll have a chat with my teacher at my next lesson.
I am also willing to do a reasonably straight forward accompaniament (grade 5 ish). Possible more if they are very easy! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

I can fit in with most things, but if I get a direct approach from anyone I will let you know. Sbhoa, you recall you lent me a version (second clari part) of Mozarts Kegelstatt Trio, for two clarinets and piano rather than usual clarinet/viola /piano. Because of illness at Leeds we ended up playing the first movement as flute/clarinet/piano.(Emsoboe/Lois and myself) I wondered if anyone would like to do one of the other movements. The first part can be clarinet or violin or flute and the second part viola or clarinet (and I think cello is possible also). |

Don't forget to check on availability of ensemble slots as I have a limited number pencilled in to allow as many solo slots as possible.

I would like to come please - I enjoyed last year very much (even with having, and being, a last minute accompanist! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) )
I always enjoy ensemble playing, so if anyone is organising something and needs a flautist then I will be happy to join. Please put me down for accompanying again, sbhoa. Now to print off the form and find the cheque book (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) . EDIT: Done, but missed tonight's post, so will be in the post tomorrow (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

OK thanks, do we have another clarinet, so we can do it with 2 claris, or is it too much to expect us to get a violist ? Or Pixie can do second clari part , and top part could be done with a Violinist or flautist. Scores are in ISMLP or if second part is to be clari, Sbhoa has a copy (I think Ive lost mine). It would be easier to do the second movement , but we could have a go at the last movement as well and see if we can manage it. |

I don't mind which part I do (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif). Whilst on the subject of strings - if I could get together 2x violinists, a violist and a cellist, I would love to do Mozart's Clarinet Quintet, not sure it would be right for this event as it's quite long! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Will look at 2nd and last mvts (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif). sbhoa - I will get my application and cheque in the post tomorrow, as I've got my big teaching day today! Also will inform adult pupil on friday. Is it strictly no children at all, I do have a wonderful little 10 year old who would probably be delighted to play something? |

Would you be thinking of this as your solo slot or as an extra ensemble? P*P...... I think the quintet is going to be too much for this even if there were enough players of sufficient standard. Given that I'm hoping to encourage more people who are not so far along in their musical journey this may not happen anyway. Sounds like it could be a good day's fun on it's own if you can find the players. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Sorry, this is definitely an Adults only event as far as performing goes. Part of the idea behind it is that early grade adults at least don't feel overshadowed by more advanced youngsters. Other events do have a wider age range and it does work well but the Adult learner concerts aim to encourage some of the less confident with some of the more advanced adults giving them something to aspire to. |

The last movement would definiteley be too long (and piano part is tricky!), the first and second are both 5 and half mins, but some repeats could be omitted - second movement is a Minuet and Trio , with most bits repeated, so it can be made to be less than 5 mins quite easily. If possible I would like to do a solo slot as well as an ensemble, but I could make this only 3-4 mins max. I was thinking of myself as more of an acccompanist for the Kegelstatt.
