Many organists will remember John Birch, whose death has apparently been announced today.
He was a professor at RCM when I was a student there (a good friend had organ lessons with him - he was a strict taskmaster!), and he was on the board of the RCO (in fact one of my exminers when I took the exam), Organist and Master of Choristers at Chichester, and ... well here's the wikilink - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Birch_(musician) |
