Could anybody give me some guidance plse?

I have a student who has had to do a minimalism composition as part of his GCSE studies. It is far from my comfort zone, but have read around the subject to try and assist him.

By my understanding, subtle changes should be used, small intervals/key changes (am I right?)

He came in tonight, his teacher has amended sections with large intervals (7th's) and clashing key changes.

Can somebody simply explain what a GCSE minimalism composition should/should not contain?

Best wishes
