Second semi final tonight on BBC 3 at 20:00hrs (IMG:style_emoticons/default/yay.gif)

Or on BBC4 is a programme on Hugh Munro and peak bagging.

( (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) )

Now there's a thought - combining peak bagging with a camping trip. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

No - that's not a thought. Dismiss it immediately. Thank you.

That is the wrong answer Rach. The correct answer is 'I'm voting for Russia'.

i didn't really like their song much.

So i'm still voting for sweden and malta. The only reason i voted yesterday (and probably will vote for them tomorrow) for Lithuania is because of the lead singer (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) (song was good though)

- but that song that Englebert is presenting for us is beautiful and touching.

Ah well. It won't win then.
I won't be able to watch as I will be doing something else - even if I don't yet know what it is.

There's so much political voting in Eurovision these days that there isn't much point! The UK has no chance of winning, whatever they submit. If you enjoy the hype and listening to the songs on the night, that's fine, but it's not a true competition.

It's time (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

First semi final was yesterday, and wonderful news for music lovers everywhere : Jedward are in the final (IMG:style_emoticons/default/yay.gif)

I'm just listening to radio 3. The announcer has just mentioned the Eurovision, and said he thought Englebert H would take the proze, political voting or not.

"So, in his honour:" and on comes the overture to Hansel and Gretel! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I'm sure Eng's song has more prose in it than in some of the other songs, so he'd get a prize for prose, if there was one! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

We have got semi final 2 on TV here in Oz as I write but I fear that I missed Englebert. How old is he? Our commentator says he is older than all except one Russian.....They look pretty old....

He's 76. A voice like that (even electronically somewhat enhanced, dare I suspect?) is pretty impressive. Nearer 80 than 70!

And looking good to someone who's 64 like what I am!

I thought he looked extraordinarily good - perhaps the voice isn't the only thing that might have had some enhancement? (NB I'm not criticising, just commenting - he's perfectly free to do whatever he chooses!)

I just checked out Engelbert on YouTube.

That great voice could belong to anyone from their mid-20's upwards.

If you only listened, and could not see him, you'd have no idea how old he is. Except that you would never imagine it was a 76-year old.

I am amazed.
