I've never met him, but I have seen him play on many occasions, and his CDs remain some of the most played in my collection - they are the soundtrack to one "phase" of my life. Such a young age to pass on and he never let on about his serious health issues. RIP

Advanced Member Group: Members Posts: 674 Joined: 9-October 08 From: East London Member No.: 41676	I didn't know Abram Wilson's music but I attended a couple of workshops given by him at the Music Learning Live conferences, and he was a fabulous teacher and communicator - warm, supportive and a joy to listen to. I heard the new on the radio this morning by chance - so shocked. Sympathies to his family and to all who knew him. What a loss.

Prodigy Group: Members Posts: 1002 Joined: 18-September 04 From: Central London, England Member No.: 2142	I had the priv of meeting him on several occasions and admired his trumpet playing immensly. He was also a great educator with young people, initiating the "teenie warriors", a branch of the "Tommorow Warriors" for younger jazz students. His last gig at Ronnie Scotts in May was tremendous and there was absolutely no inkling of his illness. He also gave my daughter several masterclasses and she is devastated at his death. He made the UK his home for 10 years and was married for all of 24 hours and our condolences go out to his family. A great loss to the Jazz world.

I met him at a workshop some of my pupils were attending and he was a lovely, friendly chap. Such a shame and only a little bit older than me which is sobering.
