Is there anything reasonably comprehensive out there that can be used to search for specific types of concerts? Perhaps by keyword or instrument. I have realised that one big reason I rarely go to events these days is that I find it so hard to locate what I want, trawling through lists for this orchestra and that one, this box office and the other, not knowing about those small little gems of venues that have the hidden gold in them. I had a look but found mostly US based searches or when they said concert they meant pop music gigs.

If there is not such a tool, any suggestions for more ways to cast the net to pull in the kinds of results I'm after - recorder consorts (it seems one has to live in Malaysia to get regular tours from pro recorders), baroque orchestras, chamber ensembles, symphony orchestras playing 'the standards', viola concerto, that kind of thing. How do you look for new material?

I hope concert-dairy doesn't as my choirs'concerts are listed on them and Shropshire and Cheshire are definitely north of Watford gap!
