i've decided that i'll probably play one of finzi's 5 bagatelles (it'll be the first one if anything as it's the one i know best. It's the Prelude)

I hope you've sent the accompaniment off to your accompanist... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/wave.gif) I haven't applied yet, as I was hoping to ask Vicky if she might need a tea lady for the day. But I'd be interested in doing a wee ensemble something either just before hand or in the concert.

Hi onion,

So glad you can make it and any help with the tea will be very very appreciated!! What a star. I'll also have my fiddle obviously so would like to play for a bit in the morning with the strings.

Thanks Katyjay for bringing music - I'll bring some as well.

As there's time in the programme we could do something in the concert as well if we want to - same goes for you wind players. (5 min rule still applies though!)

Have you given yourself a solo slot too, Vicky? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

did yo get my email reply vicky?

I wouldn't mind doing something as part of an ensemble in the morning (or part of the concert) as well as my solo performance.

Vicky, Do you have a rough timetable for the day? Can you tell us what time the concert will start?

I know the whole day starts at 12, but I may be getting there nearer 1pm.
Would that still give me time for a rehersal with my accompanist or am I cutting it too fine?
If it's a problem I can make 12 - I'm just trying to fit too much in to my day.

The concert will start at 3pm so you should be fine arriving for 1pm. Corenfa is your accompanist though and I assume that's ok with her but maybe just check to be sure.

corenfa will be there bright and early to either rehearse with people, chat, play through random stuff or at worst sit around counting my fingers and toes (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I suspect Vicky would appreciate that! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I'm intending to bring some eat-y and drink-y bits and pieces. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I can do that too - I may have a super-duper fully functioning new kitchen by then, in which case I'll be itching to try it out. Failing that there's always M&S up the road!

Thanks Confera - I'll let you know my exact plans nearer the time.

P.S. panic if you don't get to 10 of each.

Indeed, it would mean that I either have missing appendages or have stopped being able to count... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Ahh - didn't think about not being able to count.
And that is from someone who definatly can't!
Instead of 1 2 3 4 I often end up doing something like 1 2 3 1, 1 2 3 1, 1 2 1 2

Actually for your Malcolm Arnold, there are bits where I count the polyrhythms in quavers - 123 123 for 6/8, then 1-123 12 12 for the 4/4 bar right after.
