Hi,

A few of you may remember me making a rash promise some months ago (in a pub of course!) to organise a forum event in London. Well obviously I never actually intended to do it, but thankfully Barry Clari has been very persistent in reminding me of my obligations (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) with the result that I have now found a fantastic venue with a lovely piano which is very central (near the Barbican) and am about to book it for Saturday 29 September 2012!!!!

Full details are to follow in the next couple of weeks but it would be great to get an indication of interest from all you forumites.

I am very excited at the prospect of being an event organisor and look forward to seeing you in September!!

Vicky

EDIT: Here's the website with all the details: London Adult Learner Event website

Interested!!! I know my teacher has at least one other student who will be interested too.

Thank you so much for doing this. I love participating but I am too disorganised to organise stuff (I've tried and failed, not forum stuff though).

(I can also accompany)

Hehe - no problem (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) The sooner I get music the more people I can accompany.

So far looks like a good date to me (i.e. I'm not on holiday!)

Yep, we're talking very central here (St. Paul's tube, on the Central line, is literally just around the corner, and Barbican tube, on the Metropolitan, Circle and H&C lines is also close by ) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Well done Vicky! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Yours truly will be building a website with the guidance of Google Sites, and it'll be launched around about the 6th-8th July. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I'll play piano for you if you like (I assume you mean piano accompanist?) - if it's common practise (baroque to romantic) I don't need music so early, if it's modern then the earlier the better. But earlier is always better if you know what you want to play (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Thank you so much everyone for your responses, and in particular thank you to Corenfa, Seer Green and Impressionist for offering to accompany.

I have now sent off the booking form and deposit to secure the venue and will hopefully get confirmation next week that we have the date. Will keep you posted!
