My daughter is supposed to be working on Romberg Cello Sonata N?2 in C major over the summer. She has the Delrieu edition and in a number of places the notes in the cello part are different to those that appear for the cello in the piano part.

I wondered if anyone had already played this and would be able to tell me which notes are correct. (If you used the Delrieu edition then you will presumably) know which notes I'm talking about, if it's another edition, then I will obviously need to post bar numbers.

I have the IMC edition. If you can point out the potential error I might be able to help

The edition doesn't have bar numbers so I hope I have counted correctly:

The notes I am unsure about are:
Bar 75, the last group of semi-quavers: should it be: G-E-A-E or G-E-B-E?

Bar 77, should the first four sem-quavers be: F#-D-F#-D or F#-D-F#-A?
And still in bar 77 are the third and fourth groups of semiquavers: C-A-F-A or C-D-F-A?

Bar 116 should the first three triplets be: Bb-G-Bb or Bb-A-Bb?

Bar 118 should the last note be E or Eb?

The bowing indications also differ between the cello and the piano part:
Bar 69 are the first four quavers all slurred together or ar the first three slurred and the last one separate?

Bar 90 should all the triplets be slurred 2 + 1 or are the first six all separate?

Bars 117, 119, 121 all have the same rhythm; in bar 117 the first group of triplets is slurred and the second staccato in the piano part and separate bows in the other two parts. In the cello part they are all slurred 2 + 1.

In bars 130 (and similar) should the second group of dotted crotchet-quaver be slurred or separate bows? Should the first two semi-quavers which follow be slurred or are they all separate?

Bar 137: are all four quavers slurred or is it 1 + 3?

Thanks (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

And one final question - do you have any idea of roughly what grade the piece would be?

The edition doesn't have bar numbers so I hope I have counted correctly:

The notes I am unsure about are:
Bar 75, the last group of semi-quavers: should it be: G-E-A-E or G-E-B-E? Neither! I have GECE.

Bar 77, should the first four sem-quavers be: F#-D-F#-D or F#-D-F#-A?
And still in bar 77 are the third and fourth groups of semiquavers: C-A-F-A or C-D-F-A
?

Bar 116 should the first three triplets be: Bb-G-Bb
or Bb-A-Bb?

Bar 118 should the last note be E or Eb? Neither! I have a solitary semibreve D

The bowing indications also differ between the cello and the piano part:
Bar 69 are the first four quavers all slurred together or ar the first three slurred and the last one separate
?

Bar 90 should all the triplets be slurred 2 + 1 or are the first six all separate
?

In the cello part they are all slurred 2 + 1. In mine, I have 117 and 121 identical with 1st three slurred, second three as paired slur followed by stacc. third; 119 is the same but with stacc. third note in first set of three.

In bars 130 (and similar) should the second group of dotted crotchet-quaver be slurred or separate bows
? Should the first two semi-quavers which follow be slurred or are they all separate?

Bar 137: are all four quavers slurred or is it 1 +
3?

Thanks (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

And one final question - do you have any idea of roughly what grade the piece would be? No, but the Andante is on G6! Nice piece!
