Just got my results (finally! been waiting since 16th March).

I got 125. Lost a lot of marks on my aural tests, but I'm happy and my teacher seemed pleased so all is well. Here's my marks-

Pieces- 27/30
25/30
29/30 (joint highest I've ever got in a piece =D)

Scales- 18/21

Sight Reading- 17/21

Aural Tests- 9/18 (lowest I've ever got in anything....oops...lol)

Total 125/150

I didn't get any 'additional comments' this time though. I always like to read those.

Hope everyone else's results went/go well!!

And to the grade 8ers....what are you doing next?? I'm going to do a sort of starter diploma with London College.

Katy

I just got my grade 8 piano aswell, I don't plan to take any diplomas or anything because im not taking music as a career. Good luck if you do though.

its a shame about your aural mark there - a few more marks on that and you'd have got distinction! Overall you got the same marks on the pieces as me, which ones did you play?

Thanks guys!
I played the Sarabande and Rondo, the Haydn piece (A2 I think it was) and the Berceuse.

yea i played the sarabande and Rondo in mine. Have never heard the Haydn piece, I did the Schubert one in that section. Was thinking of doing Berceuse but decided to do Copland instead cause it looked easier!

anyway well done biggrin.gif

Katy,

Congratulations to you too. I took my grade 8 and just about passed by the skin of my teeth:

22/30
18/30
21/30

Scales: 16
Sight reading: 15
Oral: 10

Total 102:

Phew. I'm so relieved though because the thought of having to learn a new syllabus was not very appealing.

Good luck with your starter diploma. I'm going to do some harmony courses at college and try and fill in all the gaps in my knowledge because all I have done is exam pieces and not much else. If I improve, then I might do the ABRSM diploma for teaching as I'll never be a performer by any stretch of the imagination.

Good luck to everyone else as sell.

Sharrie
