Only 11 days until results day *hyperventilates* help!!!!!

I hate it when you get given the piece of paper, look at the results, think you've read it wrong, heart bellyflops about a foot into your stomach and then realise that actually it's ok...

OR

as what happened to me at AS results day: when you look at the piece of paper, look at the results, realised you haven't read it wrong, got a D in German, know you could've done better and think "oh @#*? I'm going to have to do it all again because a) you need to, and b ) even if I didn't, you wouldn't be satisified!

We get a letter the day before results day saying whether our place is "unconditional" or "unsuccessful". I'm in 2 minds as to whether I should open it!

well, at least whichever way it means the tension is over a little sooner - i would not have been able to resist opening it just so I knew one way or the other...

That sounds really cruel...do the universities know your grades before you do?

Yup, it's for admin basically I think (so that they know how many they have coming, whether they will have spaces available for clearing, if students have narrowly missed but they decide that they did well enough at interview to be considered etc) but it still seems a bit mean really, and horrible of places to send you letters about clearing when you think they might know your results and "does this mean I failed them all??!"

Because of my very discouraging music teachers and knowing that I had written masses of rubbish in my music history paper (which was the one they said I would do OK in) I had a major panic when i got my results... I needed BBB (well it was a points offer but the system has changed so anyway it worked out as BBB basically or ABC) I got A in Eng. Lit. thought "good, that's what I was hoping for", got B in French, thought "yep, that's what I was expecting!!, now all I need is a C in art" (thinking I would most likely get a really low grade in music from what my teachers had said) then got to my art result and I'd only got a D! PANIC! "I KNEW I hadn't done enough coursework, I should not have listened to my teacher!" - then I got to my music mark thinking "Oh please let me have scraped a C!" - and I got a B! And almost fell over in shock. And so when everyone was asking what marks I had got I totally ignored the others and was going "I got a B in music....! I got a B in music!!!!!!!!!!"
