Thanks again, Oddball. Sarah and I are obviously of one mind about your stellar qualities. biggrin.gif

I'm trying to identify the Ravel piece. Is there any more information?
Oddball
That's OK! smile.gif

The Ravel.... -

"Mouvement de menuet: 2nd movement from Sonatine"

That's all it's got.

AP hasn't come down from that yet, it's one of her favourite pieces. The whole Sonatine is on the DipABRSM syllabus, and the middle movement is wonderful smile.gif.

She wants to do grade 8 now wink.gif.
Oddball
I am actually printing out one of the pieces...3 guesses which biggrin.gif

Thanks. The 'from Sonatine' was missing from your original list. I thought there was a piano piece not on my complete Ravel Piano works CD! smile.gif

I've just played through the Prelude from the Bach P&F. The Prelude's very playable; not so sure about the Fugue. ph34r.gif And spit, I've got book two of the Clementi sonatas and the G minor is in book 1. I have a few short bars in the contents, and that's it!

Off to try and track down the Haydns now. smile.gif

what lovely news, jane.

celebrate by playing the grand piano over there in the corner... and it's such a good piano that nobody ever makes a mistake when playing it!

Hello all.
andante_in_c
I'm relaxed now, thanks to Oddball. I've just been listening to some soothing Ravel played on the grand piano in the corner while I soak in the jacuzzi. Bliss!

It's cruel, the grade 8 syllabus always has so many great pieces on it biggrin.gif. *must restrain* wink.gif.
sarah-flute
One of the advantages I have - I can't possibly be tempted because I couldn't play them even with hours and hours and hours of practice and rote-learning (maybe one day, but not at the moment!) laugh.gif so I'll just enjoy listening wink.gif

Hi Ash!

Ah the jacuzzi does wonders for a sprained ankle! rolleyes.gif
jod
Jacuzzi healing sprained ankle - must put on swim suit and dark glasses and get in straight away!

Oh good the waiter has just mixed a wonderful jug of pimms, there's plenty to go around.

And the Platter with the chocolate fondue complete with pinapple and stawberries is to die for

And with the pianist playing his way through the whole new Grade 8 piano list my life is complete.
janexxx
Who let Wayne Rooney in to the ankle healing Jacuzzi??!! ohmy.gif

Mmmmm Choc fondue and fruit

*Tucks in*

Wooo double roses. Aren't you lucky, and good your friend got elected. Maybe its not luck, maybe its because you're just a special friend biggrin.gif

Anyone for a quiet restrained and relaxing celebration. I just found out the lump in my breast I found last week was a cist...BIG RELIEF!!!! Had it drained this morning and now its GONE FOREVER!!!!

*jumps in jacuzzi to celebrate and unwind after very stressful week*

Oh, that must be a relief.

Not just now, but it was to do with Sequences and series for one lesson, we did a bit on the sigma. I understand how it works and what you write where....it's just that darn number on the top.

The other maths lesson it was solviong quadratics by completing the square...which was totally mental.

And in physics, I got nowhere near the right answer for the homework. And most of the questions I answered in the lesson probably couldn't have been further from the correct answer.

Oddball, if you need help with completing the square I can cope with that. I'll be happier if I can do some math right today.

Not when you realise all the GCSE stuff you haven't covered yet is needed for it.....
