Turkey on Christmas Day (at Grandmother-In-Law's with Mother-In-Law cooking)
Probably chicken on Boxing Day (at my parents'. Almost certainly me cooking whatever they've got in the house)
Whatever's left at Sainsbury's for the 27th - I shall have to shop then.
Beef on the 28th - In-laws at our house. Possibly parents visiting too.

That sounds like you'll be having your parents for dinner alongside the beef, KatyJay biggrin.gif
How are you planning to cook them? huh.gif

I'm going to my sister's on Friday for the weekend - hoping there will be chocolate fountain wub.gif wub.gif involved in most, if not all meals biggrin.gif

And Lizbun, since you were probably referring to presents and not food, I know what I'm getting (as I'm a typical Virgo and don't like surprises) - a pair of ice skates and a piano biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif What are you getting?

I'm not getting a new violin/oboe because I don't need one at the moment.
I said I want a DS game, but what else...?

Oops! I'm having a bit of bother wording posts at the moment! Casseroled, I think
Melody Amour
I know I have got Sibelius Musition under the tree, but I don't know what my other presents are. I can't wait to open it.
Devil_Fiddler
I know I'm getting a hairdryer from my grandparents because my Mum bought it and chose it for them. Apart from that, I actually have no idea!!
Dulciana
I WAS getting a large box of Thorntons from one of the pupils - it was waiting for me under the tree and I was holding off - but the dog wolfed the lot! mad.gif
Charlies Aunt
My friend is going to get me a recorder for my next venture. Just a basic one to get started. So hopefully I will get lots of recorder/clarinet and piano music too. I now need a music stand as everything has gone on the piano up til now. That means I'll need a bigger flat to put it all in. blink.gif

Maybe I should take up flower arranging instead...
woodwind
Lots of CDs (inc. Malcolm Arnold's complete symphonies), lots of turkey and lots of wine. Can't be bad!

Nope - my mother-in-law does this, and it too takes up a lot of room, and is messy, expensive and quite stressful biggrin.gif

Just a warning, Charlie's Aunt, from the Recorder part of the Woodwind forum...

One recorder's never enough. (Says she whose sixteenth recorder arrived in the post this morning!)

Now there's an idea...

Edit - No longer necessary! See my 'fog lights' thread for more rivetting detail.

I don't understand why some people KNOW what they're getting! I mean the whole point is that you don't.
Well, as per usual, I have no idea, cos my Mom never even hints apart from bangs on going " you're gonna love it!!!"
Been so busy though that I haven't totally got in the mood.
Don't you think the magic fades a bit as you get older.
Noodelz
Yep! The magic has totally gone for me. I don't know what I'm getting though, and for some strange reason I'm not really bothered about what I get. ohmy.gif
benjaminja
I'm getting a visit from my boyfriend just before Christmas, which will be nice. Awwwwww... tongue.gif

Not sure whether I mentioned it (my memory's never been what it used to be). It was going cheap on e-bay and no-one had bid for it (a Moeck maple descant) so I put a bid in out of curiousity and got it.

Looks like it's never actually been taken out of the case, let alone played. And it turns out to be pearwood rather than maple.

I think so. It wasn't a deliberate strategy, it was just there. And now I must get round to sending my palisander descant off for a bit of TLC.
andante_in_c
Have you tried the top D, top G with it yet?

Very wise. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
maggiemay
Sounds great KJ. I've got a Merck blackwood descant which I quite like.

I'm having my graduation certificate framed - don't ask me why I haven't got round to having it done before ! I sneaked a peep - it looks quite good !
Devil_Fiddler
My mum has a moeck desvant that I think is pearwood, it's very nice. Also has a Mollenhaur(sp?) Adris Dream descant which is a loverly instrument, very pretty as well.
