OK you've just won £2M on the lotto

, what would you buy with it?
Mine are as follows:
Cars:
Ferrari 355
TVR Cerbera RR
Porsche 997 GT3RS
Noble M12 on the car front to start with ........
House:
I'd build my own small house, probably in / around Alderley Edge, Cheshire
Job:
I'd set up my own driving holiday company!

Stable block and large music studio and concert hall attached to my house, a concert grand, lots more early musical instruments including a baroque bassoon, a horse box with living space for me, a week's stay for me and partner in a luxury hotel somewhere warmer than here, a holiday cottage in Brittany, lots of concert tickets, more music, cd recordings, lots of them, some chocolate and a very good pair of walking boots. What a pity that I never actually buy a ticket!

A detached house so I can play my saxophones as long and as loud as I like.
Oh, and open a jazz club, that would probably get rid of anything left over within a couple of years. Actually, if I had my own jazz club I wouldn't need the detached house to practise in, so I might get an extra 6 months out of it

I don't actually know what I would buy if I won a significant amount of money... I'd buy as many woodwind instruments as I could get my hands on and a nice house in the middle of nowhere so I could play them at all hours, but beyond that.... Give it away? Or just let it rot in my bank account. I certainly don't want/need the kind of house I'd need to buy to spend the best part of 2 million on it!

I think alot would depend on my situation at the time, but right now, although it isn't possible for me to win, I would pay for a holiday for my friends and I, possibly a riding holiday in Wales where we have been twice with school, or maybe somwhere in central Europe. I would love to buy a Ted Baker or Zeta electric violin, a grand piano and take up a new instrument. I would love to help out a friend whos family is in financial difficulty at the moment, as well as a lot of emotional turmoil, but I doubt her mum would accept any money.
If I had my own house I would also love to make it more eco-friendly with recycling/composting systems and solar cells etc.

Hehe. Well I got given a lottery ticket for my birthday today, so we'll have to wait and see what happens!!!

Obviously some new clarinets, but I don't really need anything else, and I don't need to win the lottery to get the things I would like.

Obvious things: pay off mortgage/student loan and that of friends and family.
Buy really amazing flute (or flutes) and many headjoints to play with, plus alto and bass flutes.
Give substantial chunks to various charities that I support and building fund at chapel.
Help out friends financially where necessary.
Don't buy tickets though, so am unlikely to win

You are nearly as likely to win if you just throw the pound coin over your shoulder.
Put your money in premium bonds instead !
If I won the lottery I'd buy a nice Chalet in the Italian Tirol and Ski through the winter. Its unlikely though as I haven't bought a ticket in 5 years. (BTW the first lottery draw was 1 week after we got married, we were on honeymoon at the time).

Um, just a bit! The odds of winning are about 14 million to 1; as my brother-in-law pointed out, you wouldn't bet on a horse with those odds!
Agreed that money can't buy you happiness, but at least you can be miserable in comfort!
I hardly ever buy lottery tickets - perhaps once or twice a year - but if on one of those occasions I just happened to win, I'd probably buy a grand piano, and a large house, big enough for said grand piano, in an area with a posh postcode (shallow? me?

). Beyond that, my family would be mortgage-free, diverse charities would get some cash, which I think just about leaves enough left over to treat myself to a bottle of Veuve.

For those old enough to play, there are a few free lotteries online. You just choose your numbers and then click on an advert. So you can have all the thrill of not-winning without spending a pound

Some of them are parts of sites where they have other games that you do have to pay to play - I think they are meant to be a free game to lure you in. But if you ignore the pay-for bits, and the adverts for casinos, etc, then there really is nothing to lose. If you are the sort of person who won't ignore said adverts and invitations, then please DON'T look these places up.
But who knows, maybe one day you might actually win something (I won £25 once

)

I don't play that often, though i do enter best of the best supercar competitions! Theres a lot more chance of winning though the tickets are £20 per go, only enter once a year mind! Can't go giving money away so to speak i'm saving up for a Chimaera of my own.
Italy is beautiful, nice choice! I've probably buy a small place in Italy too, though in Barletta (South of Italy).
I forgot to add, i would buy a very nice pair of Clarinets, a gold flute, a nice violin and a grand piano.

Let's do a bit of maths. . .
How long has the lottery-thing been running? Is it about 10 years now? Lets work on that as a round number.
So, 10 years with 52 weeks each. Assume one ticket at £1 each week.
By never having bought a ticket, I seem to have 'won' £520. Hmm, now what shall I spend that on???
