Can you compose something it gets just out of your heart? maybe all these feelings help you to create something truly yours... tragic, sad... try to express how dissapointed (sp?) you are!
What I brilliant idea! I haven't posted here before Soph because I couldn't think of anything useful to say, but I think LadyO's idea is a really good one. Why don't you have a play around now on your instrument and jot down what sound expresses how you feel about what's happened.
Yes - wasn't that a wonderful idea ? you might end up glad that you lost the first one - because you 've written something much better (as Sneekymum said) - something great that came out of your desperation.
Have a good night's sleep and start afresh tomorrow.

I sympathise with your situation. I do not think you should give up tho. There are lots of difficulties in life, and why would you want to give up? We need to learn the correct attitude in solving a problem in our lives. If you give up, the problem will still be there - it won't disappear. One will never succeed if he/she has never gone through the process of making mistakes, and learn from them. If I were you i would not even think about giving up, cos the problem is not being solved.
Please go and do some serious work, as I believe that if you could do it the first time why couldn't you do it again? In many cases people say they "can't" do it is just because they are very reluctant to, as it may involve a lot of hard work.
That was my advice anyway. Good luck with your decision!

What programme were you doing the composition on? If it was on Sibelius then it will have saved back-up scores on the computer that you were on so you can get most of it back by finding the last back up score of it.
