Yesterday SPANISH DIVA was second at 13-8 fav, however , after Daisy Chains legendary performance (see photo in Anglesey thread) , how could I have missed spotting TAMBOURINE KING, which won at Taunton at 2-1 !

Todays runners later when I've got a 'paper.

FROMSONG (Kempton 4.00) 7-2
THEATRE DIVA (Exeter 3.20) 11-4 fav
CATHEDRAL ROCK (also Exeter 3.20) 5-1
fsharpminor

THEATRE DIVA won at 5-2, with CATHDRAL ROCK following second at 7-2. A One-Two !

Unfortunately FROMSONG let us down !

Only three today , all at Ludlow:-

MAKING OVERTURES (3.00) outsider

I probably will not be able to post 'todays runners' now until Tuesday , though I may be able to post todays results at 4.30-5pm.

OK that was my bit of fun, I could have listed many more like FLOSSIEROSSIE (Clachnacuddin , anytime) or CYRILLAGORILLA (Selsdon Park Hotel , feeding time). Apologies for other omissions. of those running today.

Anyway theres not much in 'real' musical horses today:

MOON MELODY (Wetherby 2.10) outsider
DICKIE VALENTINE (Southwell 3.00) outsider for those old enough to remember him.

There is a horse running alled CRACKLEANDO, surely that's a musical term ????? Also an outsider at Wetherby.

You forgot to say our choir is singing AIRONAGEESTRING, Cyrilla.
Was it running in the St.Leger possibly ? (sorry, that's probably cross-posting - see discussion of spelling of ledger lines elsewhere - I'm not clever enough to put in a link)

mad.gif How come the odds are only 5 - 1 on Petrafied?

You've upset me now. Fsharp. sad.gif

(We need a crying smiley if that isn't an oxymoron.)
fsharpminor
Ahh sorry Petra, I suppose I could have made you all favourites (except Barry !)

Both our two genuine horses failed today !

enharmonic
Affrettando runs tomorrow in the 4.30 at Lingfield so fingers crossed.
He's had a long lay off, so may be in need of the race to get him to peak fitness, but he'll put his best foot forward whatever.
fsharpminor
Quite a few today, in order of increasing odds:-

GRAND OPERA (Catterick 3.50) 4-1
AFFRETANDO (Lingfield 4.30) 11-2
ROSSINIS DANCER (Nottingham 5.10) 6-1
GIOACCHINO (Catterick 2.20) 6-1
MAGICAL SONG (Nottingham 5.10) 8-1
SFORZANDO (Nottingham 4.10) 10-1
STRIKE UP THE BAND (Nottingham 3.10) 12-1
FRANK SONATA (Nottingham 3.40) 12-1
NATURAL RHYTHM (Nottingham 5.10) outsider
IMPROMPTU (Kempton 8.20) outsider
IRISH BALLAD (Kempton 9.20) outsider

For Saturdays Grand National it looks as though the only musical one is OPERA MUNDI
enharmonic
Affrey was a non runner today which was a bit of an anticlimax!
His blood was slightly wrong and that might mean that he is going down with a cold, If this is the case, pressure on his lungs caused by galloping very fast would do him no good at all.
Anyway, hopefully he'll soon be back on form.
fsharpminor
Thanks for the note Enharmonic. Poor Affrey !

In fact it was a poor day , all we got was a second place for GIOACCHINO. (Rossinis first name) GRAND OPERA started favourite at Catterick but only came 6th.

Today, not much hope with these except one:-

LENNON (Aintree 4.20) 6-1
SONGMASTER (Leicester 4.30) 10-1
CHORD (Aintree 3.00) outsider
BRAVE BOOGIE (Leicester 5.05) outsider
FAIR COPPELIA (Taunton 3.30) outsider
MISS BOUGGY WOUGGY (Kempton 8.50) outsider

Regards, F#DIMINISHED (Headingley Stadium, sometime)

Yes, I'm really upset now. Crying my eyes out.

fsharpminor
Another mess yesterday , best performer was fourth (LENNON).

Today:-

FIRE UP THE BAND (Wolverhampton 18.50) 10-11 fav , won for us last time
SANDS CROONER (Wolverhampton 21.20) 4-1, has also won for us before
PICCOLO PETE (Southwell 16.40) 5-1
MUSIC BOX EXPRESS (Wolverhampton 19.20) 5-1, also won last time.
MESSIAH GARVEY (Southwell 17.15) 8-1
SOUND ACCORD (Aintree 2.35) outsider
BONNIE ROCK (Aintree also 2.35) outsider

Now on April 1st I suggested LAIZYDAIZY was running ! Well I wasnt so far out. You may not now believe that today we have MAISY DAISY in the 5.30 at Aintree, a 12-1 chance.

(I won't be on line from noon today until Monday.)

There's a 'musical' horse called Backbeat running in the National tomorrow (66-1).
