Not a racehorse I know, but a friend of mine - who breeds Welsh Mountain Ponies - has named one of her new arrivals 'Toccata'. I told she'd also have to name another 'Fugue'. Would make a great driving/scurry team pair with names like that!

Affrey was very disappointing at Kempton this evening. The jockey got off and said he was full of running but as soon as he was asked for an effort he downed tools. So, it seems he's lost interest in the game which happens sometimes with racehorses.
Keeping a horse who won't try in training really is throwing good money after bad so we'll have to think about finding another home for him. He is good looking and good natured so there is every chance he could be retrained as a riding horse. There are plenty of ex racehorses eventing and showing or just being hacked out.

Just noticed that you found a horse called Gee Ceffyl Bach on the 6th of this month. I am really impressed that you knew this song. It is one that all Welsh mams sing to their babbies. (Or did you just choose it because of the name "Bach"? )
fsharpminor
Hi Petra,I didnt know it was a song, but I guess Bach is welsh for brook or stream (as it is also in German
). Of course I included it among musical horses because of 'Bach'. (and a Gee is a horse !) Actually we've had it a few times now.

If theres musical word in a horses name, I usually include it .

He he, no Gee Ceffyl Bach actually means Gee up little horse. Bach means Little or little one which is why Liddy always calls you Ffred Bach. smile.gif (She doesn't really. At least not too often!)
