Yes, I'm afraid Affrey gave a pretty poor showing. The jockey said that they went off like bats out of h*ll, and Affrey just couldn't lay up - he was off the bridle after three furlongs. Anyway, they got right away from him and he couldn't catch up!
We are hoping to find a race for him on soft going - on the turf obviously - as he ran well on the soft and that seems to suit him.

Many thanks again F#minor,
I may have a virtual, or real, sentimental flutter,
I have one question; do you ever actually bet on these horses yourself, or is it just an interest?
And further to that question, do you make a positive return on a years musical horses betting?
Regards, Peter.
fsharpminor
Sep 26 2008, 12:36 PM
I haven't had a bet on horses for years ! I was brought up Methodist (anti -gambling!)
When I started this thread it was just to list those horses running that day whose names contain something in some way musical. Then I started adding a few extra ones if there were ones where I knew of some relevance to forumites, either their forum name or in a few cases their real name if I knew it , eg JILLY WHY.
I repeat I take no responsibility for anyone losing any money because of these posts!. I am always happy to accept some commission however if you are successful !
