Ive heard a really lovely piece for flute and piano called Melodie by Emile Noblot but I cant find it anywhere. (i heard it on the CD Cafe au Lait)

Ive looked on musicroom but does anyone know of any other good sites that sell sheet music or played the piece before?

Thanks alot!

To be fair CE, whilst promoting the FAQ seems to be your standard reply when one is looking for music, it's not always the best one. Many of the sites are for piano or free music - therefore highly unlikely to have unknown or not very well known woodwind music such as the piece in question.

Fair enough.

Has anyone Played this piece before?

Sorry, no. Have you tried phoning up somewhere like Topwind? (might not have the piece, but could point you in the right direction smile.gif ).

You could try these:
*allflutes.
*just flutes.
*ackerman music.

June Emmerson wind music might have it - try googling them.

June Emmerson is apprently very good - she can get hold of a number of 'hard-to-get-hold-of-pieces'. Or so I've heard.

Good luck in your search, I've not actually heard of it, let alone played it!
sags_3
It is published by Leduc if that helps?

La flute de Pan by Jules Mouquet is a great one. The first and second movements are beautiful, with one or two difficult runs but altogether not too hard but still sounding impressive. The first movement - Pan et les berges, is really beautiful biggrin.gif
Another piece i looove is Martinu - first sonata. It's really impressive sounding and really fun to play.
Or Suite Antique - Ostinato, Aria, and Waltz are my favourite movements but all the movements are pretty awesome.
They're all grade 8 standard, oh how i love list B grade 8 flute XD All the list B pieces are awesome to be honest!
I reccommend buying the ABRSM accompaniment CD for whichever grade you're on (or possibly the grade above just to give you a challenge/something to aim for biggrin.gif unless you're on grade 8 or above this isnt possible haha) and listen to all the pieces (there's not only the piano accompaniment but a full performance of all the pieces - 4 CDs all in all!) so you can hear all the nice ones, and know what pieces you'd like to buy and play biggrin.gif

June Emerson is awesome! She's never not had a piece i've requested. Only once has she had something not in stock and still it arrived only a few days later than it would have had it had been in stock. Oh and i've always had next day delivery from her!

Just been having a look.

On the publisher's website it says:

"All our music can be ordered through your usual music dealer. In case of difficulty, however, write to us direct, except for customers in

in Great Britain to:
UNITED MUSIC PUBLISHERS Ltd
33, Lea Road
Waltham Abbey - GB
Essex EN9 1ES"

Maybe you could try and find their telephone number?

Edit - just been on their website and looked at the flute catalogue and it's not there. *very confused*

http://www.ump.co.uk/catalog.htm

Edit 2 - I can only find recordings for it, no sheet music whatsoever.

I'd recommend Just Flutes - they've got a huge catalogue available on their website but can most of the time get hold of others for you too if you ring them. Good luck!
