As usual, idea lovingly copied from another forum

I think the title explains it all really! It doesn't have to be a poem in the traditional sense of the word, just a few lines, or a limerick...whatever takes your fancy .

Well, there's no-one above me, so I'll hand over to someone else.

I think at one stage, Hulk possibly created a limerick thread. I had about 5 about me.

I'm not very good with poems though, my brother is though, he loves writing them, so maybe I could get him to do something.

These were mine from the last thread - I'll have a look for it:

There was a young flautist named Nicki
Who liked to eat cakes that were sticki
Nat said "try some fruit
She replied tooty- toot
No thanks - cos it makes me feel icki! - Maggiemay

A few hours more and you'll know!

There was a young lady called Nicki
Whose instrument choice was quite picky
She excelled at the flute
And thought sax was very cute
But embouchre was taking the mickey - Boo Radley

Nicki was a fabulous young girlie,
But her mind was all in a whirlie.
Recorder or flute?
Both were a hoot,
But she decided on horn 'cos it's curly. - Choddy

There was girl named Nicki,
Who thought her skills were yucky.
She began a thread
It grow most well-read
Which proves she is more than just lucky - ViolinAnn

There was a great flautist named Nikki,
Who found writing limericks quite tricky,
Cos getting a rhyme to fit in the time,

Nicki can easily play the flute
Every day she'll toot and toot
But sadly one day
Her fingers went astray

There once was a lassie called Wossy
Whose poems were left at a lossy
The first few lines
Worked out just fine
But there were far too many syllables in the last one and it just didnt rhymme

There once was a lady called Sophie,
Who was clever and used her loafie,
She logs on each day,
On her hols she's away,
When she returns we'll drink a toastie.

Sarah's a girl with a past!
They said it would just never last
when she married Ben Walker,
they got divorced - when her stalker
turned up and ran off with her fast!

MrB's organ is the best in town,
the girls all come and stare.
Dressed in his academic gown,
with his fabulous bouffant hair.

Carol*piano is one so rare
That people tend to stop and stare
To witness a spectacular affair
Of her adorning bikini wear!

The Piano Genius who goes as Fred
Composed his music in his head
His fingers were fast
and his music did last
but now, alas, he's dead

Fred Chopin was full of presumption,
but played with a magic and gumption,
Alas he then died!
and thousands have cried!
Such a price of fatal consumption...

Said Fred to the patient called Grey:
"You're not looking so well today
I'll give you some pills
To cure all your ills
You'll give up that bed come what may!"

A sweet young-old lady, DaisyChain
Was never, not ever a pain
She helped others out
With musical grout
As she wiggled her walking-stick cane

Like it..thank you!

Piello plays piano and cello
And knows that bananas are yellow
So how come she did say
"It's so hard to play
'For He's a Jolly Good Fellow'"?

Daisy's as nice as could be,
But Lydia does puzzle me -
She'll sometimes act tough
And go of in a huff,
And then come back and offer us tea!

Miss Ross is a member so rare
She's mature for her age, to be fair
But she gives us a giggle
When as Jean she does wiggle
Her ever so big derry air!!!

DC can't remember her name,
re-register? again? it's so lame!

in Sainsburys.. does she have no shame?

Yep, that's right

My favourite Haiku is...

Mr B has an organ of which he is proud.
And he plays it too long and he plays it too loud!
Be it wedding or funeral, if there's a crowd
He'll bash out a tune at the drop of a shroud.

Mr B has got lots of fine books, old and new
By all the great masters, and there's quite a few!
But one's been defaced with a pen of bright blue.
It reads Bach's Organ Works
And I hope yours does too!"

Daisy-chain was saddened when a certain Mr. B
Penned a poem that also maddened her bestest friend. That's me!
He used the word "craptastic" to describe the posts she wrote
Which he later changed to "spastic" which is not a word to quote.
So if you're feeling got at Mr. organ-playing B
Just be glad you're not being shot at by your future ex-wife three!

Petrat was a forumite
She posted every day and throughout the night
The hens and geese would come along
And the ponies, too would break into song
OLTVA continued by Petrat's might.

hmmm....

Petra's good at writing rhymes
That make me laugh a thousand times.
The craptastic posts I write today
And my tame old name won't go away
With friends like you to care for me

Ignoring the order, but in honour of Sarah-flute's latest result:

There once was a lady called Sarah,
Who often was seen to prepare her-
self for a grade one,
a conclusion foregone:
She'll learn it if someone will dare her.

Yet Another Pianist:
Accompanist of note,
A vehement enthusiast
of all Bach ever wrote
Has entertained us forumites
with Preludes and with Fugues
at Stalybridge and Leicester -
our appreciation's huge.

The everlasting katyjay,
Has sung her best yet, but nay.
Was that a glint of the eye by light of day?
Or has she still something more poetic to say?

Violin-ann is a player of the fiddle,
She's must be after my own heart.
(making this rhyme is a bit of riddle ),
Yet playing the violin is an art.


An Appology for my current lack of creativity
Don't just 'like it or lump it', I say,
If you're going to do it, do it with style.
My poetry has not yet had it's day,
But perhaps it will, after a while.

Once Charlie's Aunt is her name,
With multiple nicks, the mods though she's playing a game,
CA, AB or Daisy Chain, it's all the same,
It's just one very cheerful dame.

Ifsy is a flower blooming in the East,
A friend to me from afar
She sends nice PM's now and then
I look forward to hearing again
How her days are going so great
And wish her "Good Luck" with Grade 8!!

Young Violin-Ann liked to play
Her piano and fiddle all day
Choosing one first
Was so hard, she might burst
But doing them both was OK

yes, yes i am a flower
surely that gives me much power
mention grade 8 and in fear i cower
i rather i get run over by a mower

A very pretty flower you are
But you dont like drunk people from the bar
they would trample you to the ground
But then a protection hat you did found!

Abbie took her Grade 1 exam
Came out of it quite in a jam
She wondered and pondered
Even as the results entered
Was it a merit or distinction rendered?

Violin Ann was a warrior bold
Round the whole land of Runescape the legend was told
How the Queen of the Kalphite was conquered one night
By her trusty old fiddle and bow of Runite.

Sbhoa was a warrior of old
She trained all her skills a thousandfold
So high did her level get in everything
That she got all players who knew her a-begging



by the way, I wish it was that easy to conquer the Kalphite Queen!

Oh Violin-ann played the Violin
Which made such an awful din
I laughed so hard
That I fell to the ground
Then I got up and walked away with a grin!!!!

Dstring

D-String Daisy
Is absolutely crazy
for violins, violas and the like

but to get them to and fro
everywhere she wants to go
she simply cannot fit them on a bike.

Katyjay was very cheeky
She thought that Dstring was freaky
She had lots of Money
But spent it on Honey
So she bought some shoes that was squeaky!!!!

DaisyChain has never failed
To bring a new light to my day,

Phil makes a fabulous cuppa,

Especially not, when sometimes,
He appears in the OLTVA as Phyllis .
Looney has joined us of late
And has truly lived upto her name .
If you ever feel slightly 'crazy'
I'm sure Looney will join in the game!
Pianoboe is truly lovely, but I
Envy her musical skills.
Millidot isn't bad either, and her
Spongecakes can cure any ills!
And so concludes my 'poem'
(I doubt it makes much sense...)
I think it rhymes, I *think* it flows, and
I hope it doesn't cause offence!
