I've asked my Head of music to enter me for G8 piano this term, as well as G6 clarinet... I still have two pages of a fugue to learn and aurals!! Although all of July is free practice time, after exams have finished

Hi Louise, it was ok thanks, was very hard to concentrate after the first hour though, made me very sleepy! Not sure if that was the topic or just how tired I am!
On another thread, the subject of 'Thriller' (as sung by Michael Jackson) came up. This song was written by Rod Temperton, which I was aware of, what I wasn't aware of was how many other great songs he wrote...

I think it'd reduce the numbers of irresponsible owners, but sadly not eradicate them completely. Only this week one of these dogs decided to bare its teeth and growl at me (luckily said animal was on a leash). The response from the owner? 'Don't worry, he won't hurt you.' I personally wouldn't have put any money on that outcome...

Anyone else compulsively checking the online entries they've made in case they've messed up & missed someone out /got their instrument code/grade wrong. I had to check again just now despite checking several times already....

One exam left before the end of my first year... not sure whether to be relieved, panicked, nostalgic, or all three 
A group of my county orchestra friends want to meet up in the next couple of months, as our Saturday morning music workshops are stopping... but how much chamber music is there for 2 bassoons, a cello and a French horn?! (The horn player plays trombone too, so we could do bassoon quartets, I suppose...)

It's just dawned on me (slight groan - keep reading...) that I know exactly where Dawnmc71 is performing her singing diploma. In 1978 I was a young TA Lance Corporal, on a fortnight's camp in Gibraltar. One of my duties was to be part of the guard for the Convent, where the Governor resided.
If I remember rightly, the guardroom was over the road, next door to The Angry Friar.

What are 'dating mules'? Some kind of footwear? My ex used to have 'pulling pants' - I suspect these may be something similar so, no, I haven't tried them ... yet.
Definitely not keen on the fingerprinting thing - and don't think we'll go for the tongue piercing either. I suspect it wouldn't help progress on the flute.

Unfortunately I have just had to ask him to turn off the Rubettes - it was all getting a bit too much. JRC (see The Oatmeal) now we are on to Katrina and the Waves. This has to STOP.
