I used to like My Family when the son Nick was in it, as he was a surreal presence that seemed to exist on a different plane to the others. But not now, and this is the last series, I think.

What is it about men in uniforms? We have had a guest boys' choir from Canada staying in our parish, together with some of their parents. One of the boy's father is in the RCMP - yes the Mounties! He attended church today in his best dress uniform and was a great hit with the ladies. Our sopranos (Mrs Stetenorve included) queued up to have their photo taken with him...

I've just been re-reading and editing some of my older posts (slightly awkward that because I used my real name when I registered, certain internet searches which people might realistically use to google me direct to ill-considered posts I made when I was 16!). We used to post on many of the same threads.

I actually think that some of the reason the forum isn't so lively now is the (seeming) lack of young people. There don't seem to be so many threads about GCSE results, uni applications and so on. Rather than the forum having a large number of 14-20 YOs, we've now got all the parents tongue.gif!

Maybe teenagers don't do forums any more. *Feels old!*

I think you may have a point there! We do still have some younger members, thank goodness, but many have disappeared from view or deregistered since I joined the forums almost 4 years ago. A couple of years back we had lots who were auditioning for various conservatoires. It's sad in a way when they never post again, because we never hear whether they liked whichever establishment they ended up at. sad.gif

Matthew's his own man at 12. Besides as long as he gets any necessary work done we get on better when mum treats him as if he is a human being capable of having his own thoughts rather than an over-grown baby!
