A postcard has arrived at our house this morning. It's a bit delayed, but has obviously been delivered as a result of the Royal Mail clearing their backlog.

It's addressed to the people who occupied the house at the time it was posted....in 1978.

It has a comment on it "We will probably arrive back before this card does". An uncannily accurate prophecy as it turns out.

In the contrast to all the other variables in music its funny how music is bound by time signatures. 4/4 for example...Isn't it like the equivilant of making paper only rectangle?..for drawing and painting I mean.

Well. Basically! there must have once been a time me when music didnt have time signatures and somewhere along the timeline people were writing music and for some reason 4 beats in a bar stuck, so did 3 beats but less so and so on. I just thought it was strange that the 2 main things that make up music pitch and time have so much freedome but the number of beats in a bar doesnt change much at all.

Alright, break it up you two...

I haven't a random thought in my head
It really is time that I went to my bed.
My thoughts have been ordered and
Tidy today - so what can I post?
What can I say?

At the risk of annoying the
Dialogue Cops
I refer to my kitten
Who stole my lamb chops.
She is not metaphysical
Not in my head
And the chops and the mouse are still under my bed.

Yes they do!

The flats form two neat rows though.....and so could the sharps if the A was positioned higher on the treble, bass and alto clefs......
