Just read on a news website that the major engineering works on the West Coast Main Line have been completed.

Seeing as I'm going to be using that line a lot next year, that's cause for celebration!

Yaaawn. Stayed up all night to try and fix my sleeping pattern. Couldn't keep sleeping from 4AM to 2PM. I'm tired now. At least I spent the time wisely and got my essay done though!

I have my annual review in one hour and twenty minutes.
I have no idea when I last updated my development documents. The last couple of months have been insane and just kept getting more insane.
And, giving up an hour and a half for the stupid review is not going to help with the insanity.

Now, next week...this time next week, all should be calm and peaceful, if only my review were in January (quite feasible with my former managers, not with this one...)

Why in chainsaw masacre films do the murders never have to spend ages fighting with loose chains, wonky spark plugs or the wrong mixture? My chainsaw always takes ages to get going. It never fires up at the first pull.

The "Crimewatch" theme music is far too catchy! It makes me wanna be an elusive criminal just so I can be part of the groove!

One boy talking to another in a school playground: "I was so impressed by Crimewatch last night that I've decided that, when I grow up, I'm going to become a policeman and follow in my father's footsteps."

But, before I leave, a friend of mine who sometimes appears on TV told me a humorous, true story only last week. One chap said to her in a pub a couple of years back, "I saw you on TV the other week. My son was on the TV too last week."

Sarcastically, she asked "What, on Crimewatch?"

She wasn't ready for his sheepish, honest answer, "Well, err....yes, actually."
