I'm quite good at saying the wrong thing myself, but was completely surpassed by my Mum when we went to visit her at Christmas. She hadn't seen my daughter for 18 months, as she's only home twice a year now, but said to her: "I've always felt that you inherited all my worst features"! In my daughter's last piano lesson, her teacher told her to "sniff" in the crotchet rests, to make sure she didn't cut them short. Daughter has taken this very literally and has caught a cold. There is now a pp passage with very loud blocked nose sniffs every so often

I'm still up in the North West, and having a fun time

Went to sbhoa's orchestra rehearsal on Friday evening, and I learned something. When sbhoa blows her nose, it's a very good tuning 'A' for the orchestra to use for tuning purposes

I'm envious. I've never been able to make a decent sound when I blow my nose. I've heard trumpets trombones , tubas etc, but all I get is a whooshing sound

I used some Oxo cubes at the weekend, (I rarely do) but they were promoting 'New Improved shape!'

All they have done is take a groove out of each face of the cube , so you get less quantity !
