That happened to me just before my grade 8 clarinet. It was a good job too, I was practising them for half an hour every day! It's a shame I can't say the same about piano scales!

I am listening to my 12 year old practising the violin and she sounds good! I know she ought to as she is doing Gr 6 stuff- but I'm sure she sounds better than she used to! She doesn't have the music on a stand (there are 2 in the room) and is sitting with bad posture- but her intonation and sound was good- WOW!

I make butternutsquash soup. I use a biggish squash about 1.2k in weight (peeled , deseeded and cut into cubes), and a large onion. I spice it up a bit by added a tsp ground ginger , and also about 150ml fresh orange juice. Of course you need some stock too, about 800ml using three green OXO veg cubes. I find I have to simmer the onion (pre sauteed), and squash , with the other ingredients for about 40 min so they are soft enough for the blender. You can also add 3tbs single cream . This gives a fairly thick soup for four people, but you can thin it a bit if you refer it that way.

That's one placid cat! He seems perfectly content, both wrapped and unwrapped. If I put a large piece of paper on the floor I'm sure that both cats would come and sit on it, but that's as far as I'd get

There's an air-lock in my pipes, or something similar (not too good on technicalities of plumbing) and a couple of minutes after the loo has been flushed, a single, rather lovely note sounds throughout the house. I've identified it as the E above middle C.

I'm going to cook a curry today.

Last night I went to a glitter party. Large amounts of glitter were sprayed in my hair. Today I go to get my hair coloured. I am not supposed to wash it right beforehand, as the dye is less likely to take.

It's 10 past 10, and I'm on my own in the office (we are supposed to be here by 10am).

Of the six people who should be here with me:
1 is on holiday
2 usually work from home on a Monday
1 is working from home this morning and off this afternoon
2 are missing in action (one of them is my manager)

It's always annoying when there is nobody around, simply because you could skive and nobody would notice
