Just to let you know if you had been following my thread, I have had a reply to my email.
Read as follows- "Dear Susan (!)
Sorry to hear you feel this way. If you provide a forwarding address I will happy to return any music or books. ******* is disappointed as he enjoyed the lessons. Please send the refund to ............."
Then she said, and get this bit -"Kind Regards ***"
Just for the record, I decided not to offer to work out notice as I didn't want to give her that opportunity to have other digs at me. She also now has 3 pieces of paperwork with my full postal address and all other contact methods at the top. Obviously couldn't be bothered looking that up then. Kind regards.......Pah! huh.gif

Well quite smile.gif

Don't feel guilty Susie. It only goes to show how stubborn she must be. An apology for her behaviour would have cost nothing, but the reply is only proof that she feels she was justified to carry on like that, so you're well rid!

I'd be tempted to send another mail asking for her address, despite the fact you've been to their house every week...that may be pushing it though laugh.gif

I hope you feel relieved. No one enjoys having to deal with these sorts of situations, so well done!

I'm glad it's all been settled and am sure you're glad you took the stance you did. Are you going to give her a refund?

Susie

I have been following your postings with interest.

One word of advice....don't refund any lessons UNTIL she returns YOUR sheet music.

I would email her back asking her to return your music either via the post and then you will send her the refund OR she is more than welcome to come round to your house ( NOT HERS - she has caused you enough grief ) with the sheet music and you will hand her the cheque. wink.gif

What a cheeky mare!

If you do actually get to see your music again via post, I would take your time sending the cheque. Let her do some running about after you.

Edit: I would have worked out the Notice period in your place, and then phoned her to say I wouldn't be continuing teaching the kids, but I'm just an aged, hard-faced teacher used to parents like this.

And as for people saying it's not fair on the kids, look at what the kids have said to the mother regarding Susie's time keeping.

Hi Suzie

I've been looking at the posts in your other thread - you have certainly done the right thing! That kind of behaviour should not be tolerated. Hopefully, that woman will see the error of her ways and that she has learnt a lesson of her own! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Got to disagree there: Susie shouldn't drag herself down to her level and should act the professional. it descends into playground tit for tat if you start behaving like that.

Wait until youget your books back adn then give her it straight back and then you never have to deal with her again.

Good job for getting rid of her.

Appreciate your comment about not dragging down to her level, but I was wondering whether the woman would see the errors of her way once she has been dished out a taste of her own medicine? But perhaps she is too thick-skinned.

Once the woman had contacted Susie again, she should refund immediately. biggrin.gif

On the subject of the refund thing, I'm wondering what I should do if I don't receive the music. It could turn in to a stalemate where no one will send their item until they receive the others. Any advice, apart from meet her face to face? ill.gif

No music - no refund. Simple as that.

Have you emailed her saying that as soon as the music is returned either by post or in person, you will refund her?

The ball is then in her court.

How much is the music to replace?

You need to stay firm.

You have been rather gracious by offering the refund. Your music is just that, your music. Hold on to the refund amount until it is returned. You may well have to replace it. This will cost you money and time. Perhaps a follow up e mail could suggest that you need the music for other students and would appreciate its early return. Keep badgering, nicely, or else all could just slip into a mist. Feel free to mention that you will forward the refund when you receive your books. Nothing rude, unreasonable or unrealistic in that.

Exactly!

I'm assuming that the cost of several lessons is more expensive than the music....... She'll see sense and return it..... hopefully in the not too near future.
