York (or maybe Edinburgh) preferably - still waiting to hear from them both. I've had got an unconditional from Leeds too though. So many decisions!

It's my day off tomorrow!
Except that I have a deferred lesson to do.
But he's an okay pupil. Very dyslexic, but okay.

Edit: Congratulations, Miss Ross!

I got into the cinema for free last night! When the Oscar nominations came out the cinema started a special offer that if you went to see an Oscar nominated film in the weeks before the awards and it ended up winning an Oscar, following the awards you could get to see any film you liked for free (provided you still had your ticket stub for the Oscar winning film). So I went to see an advanced preview screening of "The Young Victoria". Saved me over seven quid!
And this morning...the weather is gorgeous: there's bright blue sky with bearly a cloud to be seen.
And as it's Friday there are biscuits in the office.

I'm not happy YET... But I will be very happy if I manage to get myself to Cardiff to visit my cousin without missing a connection, getting on the wrong train, missing the train altogether etc.
I'm a very nervous traveller...

I practically sat up all night playing it

(OH is away for the weekend or he would be deaf by now).

I think it's too big for me... I'm going to put a violin chinrest on it to see if that helps but it hurts my collar bone and jaw (even with a shoulder rest). I think it's that huge lumpy chinrest that came with it! It's got a great big 'sound' too... (and I'm such a shrinking violet really

)
But it's
pretty

I'm all happy again; I spent the afternoon sorting out the chinrest and shoulder problems and now's it's just lovely.. I played until my fingers were too sore to press the strings any more

Having a lovely day skiing.
My skiing ability is, frankly, pants, because my entire life experience/training in it is 8 days, 5 of which were spent on a school trip, er, 30 years ago!
But our nearest mountain is ever so close and the views were magnificent and it was the "festa della donna" today which meant that everybody gave discounts to you simply for being female
and now I've had a nice hot bath to get rid of the aches and pains and feel really, seriously, chilled out!

Well I know it's only 7.30am but I'm just happy at the thought of what I'm going to do today.
(Nothing special actually, just some coffee with a friend and then work/study all day with a little viola/violin late afternoon, but I'm really going to enjoy it all!)

YAY for Miss Ross...and if you really do hate it, at least you have the knowledge that it is a time-limited thing. You're not going to be there until retirement age

Erm, I don't know what's made me happy today yet. Remembering to put the brown bin out for collection, taking the plastics round to the recycling bin, getting to work...I'm think I'm still ludicrously cheerful from my recorder lesson on Friday (plus an hour of playing yesterday, even with my husband in the house, as now I can't worry about being overheard as I have homework to do

And it's real proper music, a sonata

) Can't wait for home time and going off to tootle some more

I'm still thinking about it today - in it's own little way it's the most affirming thing I've heard in years.
