York (or maybe Edinburgh) preferably - still waiting to hear from them both. I've had got an unconditional from Leeds too though. So many decisions! blink.gif

I got into the cinema for free last night! When the Oscar nominations came out the cinema started a special offer that if you went to see an Oscar nominated film in the weeks before the awards and it ended up winning an Oscar, following the awards you could get to see any film you liked for free (provided you still had your ticket stub for the Oscar winning film). So I went to see an advanced preview screening of "The Young Victoria". Saved me over seven quid!

And this morning...the weather is gorgeous: there's bright blue sky with bearly a cloud to be seen.

And as it's Friday there are biscuits in the office.

I'm not happy YET... But I will be very happy if I manage to get myself to Cardiff to visit my cousin without missing a connection, getting on the wrong train, missing the train altogether etc.

I'm a very nervous traveller...

The fact that I'm going to Edinburgh this afternoon. Well, I hope it makes me happy. I've only ever been in the train station.

blush.gif I practically sat up all night playing it blush.gif (OH is away for the weekend or he would be deaf by now).

sad.gif I think it's too big for me... I'm going to put a violin chinrest on it to see if that helps but it hurts my collar bone and jaw (even with a shoulder rest). I think it's that huge lumpy chinrest that came with it! It's got a great big 'sound' too... (and I'm such a shrinking violet really laugh.gif )

But it's pretty rolleyes.gif tongue.gif

biggrin.gif I'm all happy again; I spent the afternoon sorting out the chinrest and shoulder problems and now's it's just lovely.. I played until my fingers were too sore to press the strings any more laugh.gif

A dark, but amazingly performed, production of 'A Woman in Mind' at the Vaudeville this afternoon. Janie Dee is a star.

Having a lovely day skiing.
My skiing ability is, frankly, pants, because my entire life experience/training in it is 8 days, 5 of which were spent on a school trip, er, 30 years ago!

But our nearest mountain is ever so close and the views were magnificent and it was the "festa della donna" today which meant that everybody gave discounts to you simply for being female biggrin.gif
and now I've had a nice hot bath to get rid of the aches and pains and feel really, seriously, chilled out!
lottie
blush.gif Well I know it's only 7.30am but I'm just happy at the thought of what I'm going to do today.

(Nothing special actually, just some coffee with a friend and then work/study all day with a little viola/violin late afternoon, but I'm really going to enjoy it all!)
Miss Ross
I'm going to work!

It's taken from the end of October until now for me to actually find some proper work after coming home from uni. So I may hate it (who knows?) but I'm going back to the real world! biggrin.gif
Maizie
YAY for Miss Ross...and if you really do hate it, at least you have the knowledge that it is a time-limited thing. You're not going to be there until retirement age biggrin.gif

Erm, I don't know what's made me happy today yet. Remembering to put the brown bin out for collection, taking the plastics round to the recycling bin, getting to work...I'm think I'm still ludicrously cheerful from my recorder lesson on Friday (plus an hour of playing yesterday, even with my husband in the house, as now I can't worry about being overheard as I have homework to do biggrin.gif And it's real proper music, a sonata biggrin.gif) Can't wait for home time and going off to tootle some more biggrin.gif

Playing a piece in third position and almost getting it right. The sun shining also helps!

A winter's walk locally - in the woods and along the river- with my (nearly) 4 year old son smile.gif

A step forward in my process of 'moving on' with something. I did something today that I'd have been too terrified and embarassed to do a month or so ago.
