Some of the comments my piano teacher makes our priceless. Today I played him Tchaikovsky's Barcarolle and his comment was, "Not bad but I would like to hear more of Tchaikovsky's tortured sexuality in your interpretation".

I really need to go back to that piece - I gave up at the middle section before!...

Being part of the British Dyslexia Association's 'Music and Dyslexia' day in Westminster.

Lots of interesting stuff and I think the session I ran went down well.

Some very interested and enthusiastic people - and I met parkere too!!!

I'm happy because I'll soon have a garden to tend again

Had a lovely day yesterday at the beach. The sun was shining and children were in swimming costumes, making sandcastles and paddling. Idyllic.

Then we went to see my son in the local panto- and it was excellent- really funny. DS did very well.... then went to pub after. Then stayed up chatting v late with my friend who came down to see panto!

By 9am this morning I'd already had a 30 minute swim and an hour's piano practice and I feel great.

(let's see if I still feel so good by day's end)

The results of my final exams came out today. I averaged exactly the same as I have every other year I've been at uni. (Which was WAY better than expected!)

Its nice to be consistent.

And the best thing of all is, I can now be very confident of getting the result I want out at the end. So the pressure is off these final projects a little.

I'm sure you won't, but don't get too complacent. I had a student a few years ago who went into his final year with 85% (70 needed for a 1st), which is extremely high for an essay subject, and he came out with a 2:1 because he stopped working...

Well that's one advantage of it all being group work projects this last semester. None of us feel we can slack off totally, as it means you mess up other people's results too: And some of them need/want every percent they can scrabble together. 5 years of working together means the cohort is quite close, so there is strong emphasis on pulling together. Especially now the 'laziest' students are the ones under the most pressure to try and pull themselves up into the magic 2:1 bracket.

I need 55+ in my final semester. There's no way I can not do any work, but its just a relief don't have to fret so much anymore either.

Speaking to the editor of Music Teacher just now, who wants me to write a Kod?ly article for the May issue (where's that 'woop woop' smilie???).

He was at the Music and Dyslexia conference yesterday and was the first person chosen to be the farmer in the 'Bobby Bingo' game .
