Doing an awareness walk this morning for the local RSPCA and dog's home, to raise very much needed funds to help the dogs find homes and just be looked after....was great fun with about 20 dogs (amazing turnout considering it was heavy rain at the time) and son was great at mugging people for their money! Organised chaos...

It's a good job we only have a mini for a car or we would have come home with the big gorgeous boy Andy was walking it's enough of a squeeze with our 2 plus the kids!!

And then I managed a good practice and teaching session for daughter towards her G5 theory too, followed by Dr. Who. A good day!!

Cyrilla showed me a copy at Kodaly choir yesterday.

It was in 'Music Teacher', SB, and was just a very practical article on developing a sense of pulse with young children (accompanied by a good photo of some of my sprogs in action) - so probably not of great interest to you - but do find a copy if you'd like to have a squizz at it.

It's only 10.15am and I've done heaps of the little niggly things at the start of a very busy day.

LOTS of ticked boxes

1. Driving to Derby, sunny day, roof open, windows down ... listening to random music of today on local station!

2. Sat in a little cafe eating a lovely panini and hot chocolate in a "irish coffee" glass, looking out the window at the sun.

3. Looking forward to the drive back ...

and did I say the weather is beautiful, hooray - summer is upon us

Just had an excellent rehearsal for Thursday's concert, and more importantly Band Master was impressed with our singing!! Very very relieved indeed!! Now I'm really looking forward to the real thing - and oh my, the ballroom has such a great acoustic for singers, it's effortless in there

My wife saw her granddaughter today for the first time since the afternoon she was born (4 weeks ago tomorrow), as she has been down in Suffolk with her Mum in hospital. It was great to see her so happy.
She only got home yesterday. Bad news is she is going back tomorrow !

I unashamedly sat in the sunshiney garden this afternoon, doing absolutely nothing.

Heaven..........

All my pupils passed their exams, and I only had to wait a week to find out!!!
3 passes, 3 merits and a distinction (ok so the distinction was for my exam, but that makes me happy too!!)
Especially proud of my grade 4 violinist who only decided to enter 6 weeks before the exam, and learned all the pieces and scales in that time, and got a very high merit!!!
Also really pleased that a grade 5 pianist who was in a COMPLETE state before, throughout and after her exam managed to scrape a pass!!

Now for the hugely enjoyable afternoon of phoning everyone to let them know!!!

band practice, an unexpected piece of very good news, and rain but not necessarily in that order

It was trying reallllllly hard to give us some light drizzle yesterday. I am jealous of people with rain (I believe I may get some overnight, at long long long last - my garden and water butts need it!)

I'm happy because today I have the day at home all to myself.

I will work but I will also tidy up and do lots of little things I've been trying to fit in for weeks.


And then if the rain keeps up I may light the fire this afternoon and watch a Yuri Bashmet DVD that arrived in the post yesterday.... can't wait!!!!!!

I too am home alone all day and probably for the weekend too.......pity we are so far apart Lottie !!

Yes, I would definitely have managed to fit in a coffee and chat with a musician!!
