Happiness yesterday was 'Praise My Soul the King of Heaven' and 'Glorious Things of Thee are Spoken' (Abbot's Leigh), played superbly, and sung with great enthusiasm with the sweet smell of incense hanging in the air (at the opening of this year's RCO St Giles Course in London).

Two of my favourites.

On the subject of hymns songs for guitar, it isn't just the weird keys they are written in, but the total lack of rhythm that makes them so difficult to follow, with the result that most people either pretend to sing, or just don't bother.
It's not a lack of rhythm per se. A lot of them are syncopated, and that works fine if you have drums to keep the beat and the guitar strums clearly.

It doesn't work when you just have a piano, flute and singers.

I've just got my OU results for this summer - distinction for SDK125 and grade 2 for K272, now the proud owner of a Certificate in Mental Health Studies (Open)

Congratualtions to both of you.
Is it a BSc next, Maizie?
