Got results today for my 3rd year exam in maths. Disappointed at only averaging slightly over 70%, ah well.

G5 cello today sad.gif. Pieces were ok ish, a few mistakes. Completely missed up the C major scale, bowed it in 3s sad.gif and had to restart E major after 3 notes. Played my sight reading in D instead of A although I think there were only 2 G#s. Messed up my sight singing a bit. Now I think I'm going to do better in my G5 clarinet. Tomorrow. And I don't like the clarinet half as much sad.gif.

Our exams were a month or so ago now but this is the first time I have been on since then. Ours were our semester one exams and as I changed to a new degree at the start of the year I am now a first year again.

My first exam was Human Resource Management -15 multiple choice questions and 4 short answer questions. Exam went OK, due to having special consideration was one of three people in the room and was the only one doing this exam. Ended up getting a Credit for this subject.

Computing -same day as the Human Resource exam but in the afternoon. I was so exhausted by the time this exam came around, had not had two exams on the same day in years. Only person in the room. Very stressful exam, multiple choice and case study went OK, but the short answer were horrible. We were given 40 questions throughout the semester to revise and 4 of these were on the exam (except you didn't know which ones would be on the exam). Every single person who sat that exam walked out of it and went straight for the textbook, no one could remember the answers for the short answer questions. Still got a credit.

Organisational Behaviour -What a Joke. 50 multiple choice questions. You were given 2 hours to do the paper and weren't allowed to leave for the first hour. No marks were deducted for incorrect answers. Sat there after the first 20 minutes drawing on the paper as I was so bored and I never go back over multiple choice answers after filling them in because I end up changing the answers when the first one was correct. Got a pass for this course mainly due to low marks for the assignments.

Last exam was Marketing. My favourite exam of them all -got a credit.

I'm doing such a good job of blocking results day out of my mind that I wouldn't be suprised if i forgot to go and get them on Thursday ohmy.gif

It also doesn't help that I can't get onto my school email account, so can't find out when I'm meant to go in and get them huh.gif

ChevvyChev
I'm really worried that i'm about to become the worlds biggest ever disappointment... sad.gif
andante_in_c
I just asked No 3 son if he's getting up at 8.00 to check his AS results. He looked at me as if I'd gone mad... sad.gif
ChevvyChev
(and therefore opening/looking at track when 'rents are around could be disasterous...)
nicki_flute
Chev.

You are NEVER a disappointment and you never will be. You work hard - people will recognise that and you're an amazing person.

Andante - hehe! My brother doesn't even seem like he's bothered! (at the moment)
ChevvyChev
I will be to my parents if I don't get in...and how will I tell Fairy...???
Oh godddd sad.gif why did I even apply....sorry having a psycho freak out moment :'(
nicki_flute
No you won't. You did your best, you couldn't have done any more.

You applied because it's your dream music course, they obviously want your fabulous talent, enthusiasm and passion smile.gif
ChevvyChev
mellow.gif Yes, but that makes it even worse if I don't get it at the last hurdle...sad.gif
nicki_flute
But it doesn't make you a failure

Hope things go ok. thereThere.gif

I am only getting as level results, but I am scared, and mostly about what my parents think, as I know whatever i get i wont be happy with.
ChevvyChev
But I want it so much sad.gif I don't want to disappoint everyone who ever said I could do it sad.gif and I'm desperate to prove to everyone else who said I couldn't that I could sad.gif
nicki_flute
Soph - AS results were scary for me! Are you thinking of going to university?

Chev - I know you do. I can understand so well as I wanted Durham so much. And you can do it. I know you can.

I dont want to disappoint anyone either, but I know I already have.

So, I am going to sound like a hypocrite here, just for tomorrow, dont worry about what other people think, tomorrow is your day.

I guess, we'll see...I plan on going out either way...there will be other people I can celebrate for if not myself smile.gif
nicki_flute
You never know Soph and I am sure you won't have. smile.gif
Soph15
I think I want to go to uni, but right now the idea is scaring me a lot.

I know I have disappointed, because I know I havent got what is expected from me.

I hope you get where you want to go, and I am sure you will be celebrating for yourself CC!!!

nicki_flute
Aw, well it is a scary idea smile.gif But much better than school Would you want to do music?

What do you think is expected from you?

Ideally I want to become a music teacher, and people I have spoken to recently think primary school teaching would be ideal for me. I dont think I will get there to be honest with music especially.

My Dad went to parents evening and told my teachers what he thinks/ wants/ expects me to get. I know I havent in at least 1 of those subjects, and more than likely havent for the rest of them.
ChevvyChev
Well, I kinda should because my insurance is unconditional...so whatever happens I have a place...but, I have my heart set on my firm sad.gif
I'm sure you'll do really well too, what subjects have you taken?

I took music, psychology, sociology, english lang & lit and general studies.
ChevvyChev
Well, I thought they were ok at the time, but the more I've thought about it the worse I feel sad.gif
I did music, psychology, started sociology before dropping it smile.gif great minds think alike biggrin.gif

If you believe in yourself, you can!

Are you doing Sociology at A2?

I tried the approach of not thinking about the results, it didnt work for me either.

I dont believe in myself, and i dont believe I can do it.

I arent sure, it all depends on results or lack of.

nicki_flute
Well, if you do, let me know if you need any help smile.gif

ChevvyChev
I think you'll do well, and you can always retake, dreaded though that word is, it got me 3 A2s at A grade so I'm happy smile.gif just one more to go sad.gif
nicki_flute
And got me my Music A-grade smile.gif
Soph15
I think i may be retaking all of them.
keeponsinging
I do psychology too soph i did ocr, how about you?

Soph- Always remember that what your parents want isnt always the be all and end all. You shoudl be proud of whatever you achieve (i know i'm a hypocrite).

Chevvy- I'm sure you'll get in and even if you don't YOU DID YOUR BEST and you shoudl be proud.

Good luck everyone. I did
spanish, psychology, biology, theatre studies and critical thinking AS's
and I know i've mucked up on some. My parents arn't pushy and they know I do my best but I think whats worse is I am a big critic of myself. I know i'm not going to be happy. I don't need pushy parents I'm the biggest pusher of all wacko.gif
But the thing is they think that its just me over worrying and they say I always say i'm going to have done badly and they don't believe i will have AHHH!!
Soph15
We did edexcel. I like psychology, its interesting smile.gif

I am a critic of myself to, maybe to much sometimes, but I care a lot about what others think of me too, especially my Dad, and most people that know me know how much I care. Its because I know what my Dad wants that I am so worried.

Wow! You took a lot of As's ... good luck for your results!
ChevvyChev
thanks smile.gif
good luck to you too!
I'm the same, I always think the worst even if no-one else is thinking it, about pretty much everything!
And my parents do that too!! the old, we know you've done well, you always do well and they'll ask me how an exam's gone and i say hmm okish i hope and they'll say, you always say that, that means it's going to be really good...GRR parents
nicki_flute
I think everyone is their own worst critic.

ChevvyChev
Espech us Nic...remember when you were at mine and we were a week from GCSE results...we were certain we'd failed pretty much everything!! Good times smile.gif

nicki_flute
Oh yes, I made cake and we heated it up. I'll bring some cake along in a couple of weeks.

You can think of what I might need in my house tongue.gif
ChevvyChev
ooo, house biggrin.gif that's very grown up!!!!! biggrin.gif
I'm getting more scared by the second sad.gif
nicki_flute
And pizza and chopsticks!

Aw, I wish I could come down and give you a hug.
