What time do you get your results?

Getting slightly more nervous now for my AS results. The downside is that I'm not allowed to collect my results until 2pm, although I can check my Music Tech result online...

I got into York!

Oh, brilliant! woot.gif I'm so pleased for you - after all that worry! Now you can enjoy your break in Ireland. smile.gif

Son got his 5 A's but didn't get the STEP grades he needed (bit of a surprise, as he thought he had done well on the paper he went down on) so looks like he will be going to Durham. Cambridge have said they will defer the offer if he wants to re-do STEP next year, but it's a big change of plan to suddenly have a gap year, and still wouldn't guarantee he'd do well enough - he's thinking about it though.

Hope everyone is out from under the stone now and that the results weren't too bad!

Congratulations to your son on his 5As! biggrin.gif

If it was me, I'd think I'd take the deferred offer and have a gap year.

5A's is fantastic! Shame about the STEP. My friend also got 5A's but didn't get the STEP grades....it really does seem silly that you can get AAAAAaa with most modules in maths being the high 90% and still not get in...

Thanks for your comments, Ben. Where will your friend be going?

I think there's far too big a gap between the end of Further Maths and the standard expected for STEP. Unless you're coached properly for it, only the very best get there - which is the idea! After all, it's the best Maths course in the country.

Sorry your own AS results weren't better, but at least it looks as if you didn't have to leave home after all!! tongue.gif Better luck with the resits. smile.gif

He'll be off to Warwick smile.gif Even if he did get in he was thinking about not going as he didn't think he would manage there, but he's happy to be going warwick as it won't be AS pressurised etc...

In regards to the big gap I agree! Especially as some people who do STEP II and III would have done FP1-3/4 as part as there Further maths, whereas other will have only done FP1 and 2 and more stats and mechanics...but not enough of either to be competent to tackle a mechanics or stats question.
