Yes, at least it'll mean I won't have to get up at 6 in the morning on an exam day.

I have my Higher English on Thursday.
I'm not looking forward to it.
At all.

Devil_Fiddler
My GCSEs start a week yesterday mellow.gif
Well, apart from french speaking and terminal task smile.gif

To be honest though, right now I'm more scared at the thought that I only have four more days left of school in my life!! Exams in general aren't worrying me so much, I don't find them too bad, but the sheer amount of stuff I have to know for History and Geography is a bit scary wacko.gif
Good luck to everyone else doing exams biggrin.gif

First exam on Tuesday on Differential Geometry! Wahey. Not. I've got one on Saturday too which is pants.

Just realised I have 6 hours of exams in one day on Electromagnetism and Quantum Mechanics...at least it's not Quantum and Fluid Dynamics on the same day, because that would be taking the ****

*goes on little trip down memory lane* wub.gif

Lucky for me exams not until October (Open University) but I remember this time of year well when I was a proper student so sympathise. Also remember the joys of Saturday exams and my boss complaining about me having to take time off work mad.gif

Anyhoo, good luck to everyone smile.gif it'll all be over soon and then party1.gif

Haha, I wish it would be party time. I recently got the nomination for the EPSRC research studentship so I am supposedly doing some extra learning over the summer. However my potential supervisor has different ideas, and hopes we will do enough work to have an article published...the prospect of having published something before I've even thought about writing a thesis (which I will do eventually) is pretty cool, but I am guessing there needs to be substantial effort put into it...

Well done on the studentship hurrah.gif I won one of the Carnegie undergraduate scholarships and had to spend the entire summer in the Uni doing research as well (it was actually on Dirac monopoles and fibre bundles hence my love of differential geometry) but it was really worthwhile (money was terrible but I was working full time in the evenings anyway).

I never did get anything published as a result except in the Carnegie library or something so I'm in awe. Just think - you will get to have a proper publications section on your CV - that is soooo impressieve irrespective if you stay in academia or go into industry.

I'm sure there will be time for some partying though tongue.gif

Good luck to everyone doing the dreaded exams. Best advice I can give is to do plenty of revision beforehand, get lots of sleep the night before each actual exam, and try to stay relaxed during the exam - panicking never helps!

Hope to hear lots of wonderful results in a few weeks time! smile.gif

I have my Higher English on Thursday.
What texts are you writing about? This will make me sound odd, but I really enjoyed blink.gif the Higher English exam last year, so I hope yours goes well for you! smile.gif Do you think you'll take English in 6th year?
greentone
Nice to now that I'm not the only one spending a sunny day looking at words like Dirac, debye, quantum, 3d wave functions and probability distributions. My supervisor only gave it to me on Wednesday and he goes away for a month from next week.... so I'm frantically trying to get it finished before then. At least there isn't an exam in it afterwards, but I am having to translate it as I go. And it's the last chapter !!! Yay !!!

We've studied Hamlet and Wuthering Heights and 4 poems; "Assisi" and "Visiting Hour" by Norman MacCaig and "Afternoons" and "Ambulances" by Philip Larkin.
Hopefully there will be a nice question on Hamlet and a nice one that I could do for Assisi!
Which did you study?
Nope, not planning on taking it for 6th year! I'm taking two foreign languages to Advanced Higher, though! biggrin.gif
Miss Ross
We did Othello, Iain Banks' 'The Crow Road' and 'The Death of Marilyn Monroe' by Edwin Morgan. About a week before the exam I realised I couldn't remember Othello in enough detail so didn't revise it at all ph34r.gif and thankfully the questions on prose and poetry were great! biggrin.gif

Is it French and Spanish you're going to be doing?

Advanced Music is amazing, IMO. Especially the specialist study. biggrin.gif

Well, I've been offered places at Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Stirling University...hoping to do Music and English at Aberdeen, if I meet the conditions. smile.gif Almost wishing I'd planned a gap year though.

anyone else have psychology investigations (methodology) today?? it was OCR
I guess it was ok, could have been better but could have been much worse
core studies 1 and 2 on Friday!!!
greentone
Done it ! I got rid of Dirac, Debye en co, and my supervisor has marked it all so that's that finished !!
Now to do a ppt presentation of interdisciplinary science projects, the problematics of teaching wave- particle duality and I can hit my mini thesis and last few themes.
BabyBanana
Am slightly worried. Have my GCSE Maths next Monday ( fluffed up my maths last year ) and can't get anything higher than a D... I need a C...

Uh oh. -intense revision been going on recently-
Aileen
What did anyone think of Higher English today? I thought the close reading was fairly straight forward and the essay questions were good for the titles i was writing about.
maddielou_
Done french aural, physics and rs so far smile.gif.
Sports studies tomorrow.
Really should go revise hehe!

I heard that the paper was about agriculture - makes last years' paper on libraries look interesting! blink.gif

I had AH English today - I was sooo pleased when I saw that the Janice Galloway question was on 'gender issues' as I'd mainly been focussing on the role of women, particularly in Scotland, and the media's portrayal of women. smile.gif
